Are titles listed as OAVs that received Japanese theatrical releases really movies?

Is there any clarification on this issue? (Length of theatrical run, if the discs are sold packaged together with something else, etc.)

Other editors might have more specific answers but I usually denote the type based on how it is marketed in Japan. Anime films in Japan usually have the word "gekijoban" in the title when it's a film. OAVs that have gotten theatrical runs are also usually marketed as OAV with that acronymn even if they get a very limited theater run (usually two weeks).
