I'd love to see Dragon Maid on this block.

It's still a show that's mostly only popular with anime fans and it's humor is still geared mainly to anime fans that understand Japanese pop culture references that the more casual Adult Swim audience isn't going to get. |
The show loves absurdist humour, like most Adult Swim originals. It's not a stretch to think there might be some crossover there vs it getting sent to the anime ghetto.

This will either be the most successful risk that Neo-Toonami ever took. (Comedy series are still the biggest viewer draws on Adult Swim) or will tank horribly.

I wasn't familiar with this show, but I know it's not action shonen. Cool pick up. Maybe it wasn't technically Toonami or whatever, but there was a time on Cartoon Network where you could tune in on a saturday between like 9 PM and 2 AM and you might see: Naruto, One Piece, Bobobobobobobo, Super Milk Chan, Paranoia Agent, Cowboy Bebop, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Ghost in the Shell at some point that night. That mix of "oh it's more than just DBZ and stuff like DBZ" is what helped grow me as an anime fan so I'm glad they're willing to try more variety.
With that I decided to check an episode out...
You know, regardless of anything, Cartoon Network tried to switch things up and experiment. That's probably a good thing in the grand scheme of life. Best of luck to them. If this does well, maybe other stuff can come over.

If Adult Swim had co-produced an anime, PTE would probably be that anime.

Adult Swim co-produced FLCL Progressive and Alternative, tho.

What I find quite weird about this show is that there are different voice actors for literally every episode.

I'm surprised that even Undertale got a reference in the show, to the point where even Toby Fox, the game's creator, tweeted out the scene in question. Guess even American media gets a reference in such an obscure show such as this.
