The chapters from different PoVs are pretty important to the story after the survival arc and are great for fleshing out the setting, so it's a bit sad to see that there are people who don't like them. However, if the anime is only covering that arc, it's better to ditch them.

Pretty excited about this. I hope they get a talented voice cast especially for our spider.

This is definitely what's happening.

It happens too frequently to be a coincidence

As a manga reader, that sounds dreadfully boring and I second hoping they stick to only spider girl.

As someone who started with the manga and bought the novels once YP released them, I really liked the side POV chapters since they really gave a lot of perspective and weight to the story. There are also tons of hints in the side POVs that are presented in parallel with what Kumoko is experiencing that foreshadow future events or other characters. I think they add a lot.

This sounds like fun. I wonder who the staff will be and if it will be 2-Cour like the Slime anime.

If this anime is based on the manga and not the novels, then the synopsis given in the article is worng. There's no mention whatsoever of any princes or demon kings or really any of her former classmates in the manga. It's only Kumoko.
And I wouldn't exactly call her a giant spider either. spoiler[Rather a large part of the plot is that's she's only a tiny baby spider but there are actual giant spiders around.]

I dunno about the other characters but "random high school kid who get reincarnated in another world and is destined to fight the demon king" sounds mind numbingly boring and we already have more than enough anime with that character. And if he end up eating a quarter of the run time I'm gonna be pissed.

The largest spider on Earth has a one foot leg span and Kumoko is depicted as being nearly as big as a human (eventually). I'd say it's pretty fair to call her a giant spider.

first slime datta ken and now this! it's like someone just looked at my favorite novels and asked if i wanted them to be animated. super looking forward to this, although i wonder exactly how far they plan to go with it. spoiler[ i mean i would imagine they plan to go until the D reveal or at least until she meets grandma which roughly happens around the same time now that i think about it ]

Yeah, the dude is incredibly boring, and it feels like the author decided to stick all the bad anime tropes in his sections. You've got spoiler[the little sister that's in love with him, the male friend reincarnated as a girl that falls in love with him, the teacher(who wanted to date one of her students) with the world's most annoying verbal tic....] World-building or no, it's just incredibly annoying. And at least in the first novel, every other chapter is about him.

Japan never ceases to amaze me. The premise is admirable.

Ohhh god, and it really seems like there specifically adapting the LN since they're using the LN cover rather than the manga one...

Well I guess since they moved away from that going forward the original idea might have been that they needed a human protagonist so they were going 50/50 but realized that there's already a billions LN with those boring harem leading protagonist so they tried to cut him out. So whoever will lead the anime adaptation should understand that too and maybe they'll cut him out entirely from the get-go.

I think it is useful to the story and while spoiler[the parts with the prince aren't as good as the main story with Kumuko they do provide the perspective of humans in that world. That does help give context to what is happening in the dungeon and even if they only make a single cour I think they will most likely include them.]

Congratulations you catched the most obvious trope that the author used and did exactly what she predict most people will do. All the first half of Shun's story was made for that, to make the readers angry about the most cliche isekai story trope and create a completely opposite story to Kumoko's arc. Why do you think Shun's chapters are called S chapters? (Hint: is not because his name)
...
...
...
It's for Mary "Sue".
Shun's story is just a bunch of worldbuilding until things start to happen (volume 3) then his story is more interesting (decent) spoiler[and end with a great bang.
]

The amount of worldbuilding that S chapters have are imposible to fit on Kumo's chapter without destroying her plot (she's in a cave how could kumo know about other countries, the skills encyclopedia or the demon lord army).
If you don't like the side stories I have bad news to you, there are a bunch of others that are waiting start:
spoiler[Blood chapters]
spoiler[Oni chapters]
spoiler[R chapters]
spoiler[O chapters]
spoiler[More B chapters (demon army)]
spoiler[More Y chapters (julius)]
