I just finished volume 3 of the manga. The mix of magical girls with military tactics is an interesting twist on the whole “dark magical girl” genre, but so far I don’t know if there’s anything thematically interesting going on here, or if it’s just a thrill ride. Not that a decent popcorn anime wouldn’t be welcome in the usually dire winter season.
