I think Tesagure! Bukatsumono Encore is the pinnacle of the Gdgdverse so far, but Himote House had some fun bits.

It was one of my most anticipated series of that season (as a fan of gdgd fairies, gdmen (my best anime of 2018), naria girls etc), but I only got around to watching it this week.
I feel like it's not as funny as gdgd, but (like Naria), it gets funnier as it goes along. It was really nice seeing the fairies together again (I knew Mimorin was in it, but hadn't realised the other two were, but while listening to Tokki speak I was like "dude that's gotta be shrshr") The TPP adlib bit was so good. Enishi's expressions were so hilarious, how they look away or tear up and stuff. I'm always happy to see the anime references in the ED in these shows. It's fun guessing them, and in this case it was cute seeing sort of made-out-of-what-you-have cosplays that work. |

A "gem" isn't really accurate. More like a big turd with some fragments of a gem stuck inside it

I guess it isn't really fair to compare this show to Teekyu, since that series had pre-existing material to draw from and nine seasons to figure out what worked and what didn't, but all things considered I think I personally prefer this kind of absurdism in two-minute rather than twelve-minute installments.

I laughed at the old guy under the bed bit. It takes a lot to get me to laugh. I don't know if I could survive Himote House. I'll have to watch all the gdgds, too.

It's rated as the worst anime of the season, but the pre-order numbers aren't terrible. We'll see how it turns out. |

Thank you so much for this dialogue/review/commentary. I would never have watched this series without it.
It is wonderful. Just amazing. It reminds me a little of Joshiraku, but with better chemistry among the cast. I can tell I've been missing out. Now to check out gdgd fairies.... |

Thanks, this article reminded me to finish watching the show. After I got used to the janky visuals (which are reminiscent of Kemono Friends), I found this show comfy and often hilarious.
