Fortunately, TechHive just had a legitimate article on "How to rip (copy) Blu-ray...", by Jon L. Jacobi. I came to it by way of PC World, myself, so I think it threads the needle of required niceness properly. It is an involved process, as he describes it, but at least just having to remove the live-action stuff should make any editing easier.

I'm not a big enough fan of Oshii to want this myself. There's a good review of Angel's Egg over on Anime World Order, and it sounds way too artsy for me.

You do realize it uses some footage from Angel's Egg spliced in, not the entire film.
