Ohhhh those chunky, Banana Fish style character designs... weeehhh I miss the willowy ikemen styles... well, Touken Ranbu is still popular, so there's that...

Ikemen music shows are not going away! ... wonder how long until HypMic gets an anime...

...what? I think the character designs are very faithful adaptations of the manga designs, what exactly is the problem?

Oh wow. BL anime adaptations are generally kinda meh but if this is going to be on Noitamina then I think it's okay to have somewhat high expectations.

Ikuhara's Sarazanmai is coming to Noitamina next month. There is a good chance that it will have some yuri content.

I'm sure it will, when there's only one female character in the entire cast lol.

I've watched the trailer about 50 times now, it's so nice to see the characters animated. Maybe this will also get the manga an English license. I really hope this anime ends up being good.

The event stated that the anime will be the "first anime based on a boys-love manga" to air on Noitamina.
Are they not counting Sarazanmai as the first Noitamina BL anime?

Has Sarazanmai officially been billed as a BL anime? That might be where the distinction lies. Or maybe it’s the “based on a manga” bit?

We don’t know if Sarazanmai is BL yet—though fingers crossed—and it’s not based on a manga. Even with that aside, No.6, Banana Fish, and Antique Bakery aired in the noitanimA block, if we’re talking about series with depictions mlm relationships.

Omg, yes! Are we finally moving on from the crappy "rape is love" BL onto adapting the better stories instead? Do I dare to hope?

Sarazanmai is not a manga adaptation. No. 6, BF and Antique Bakery all run in shojo/josei magazines. So, yea, this is technically the first real BL adaptation from NoitanimA, even if a lot of their shows have BL elements

There is a manga side story but it seems to be one of those titles like the Utena and Yuri Kuma Arashi manga where it has a different story and it's not exactly a source material but it comes out at the same time as the anime. But I believe the manga is running in a BL magazine isn't it?
