If the intention is to collaborate with Aniplex, this might help Funi gain/get back titles currently owned by AoA. Otherwise, I fail to see this changing much.

Does this mean that sooner or later, Aniplex shows would be FUNimation-exclusive instead of streaming in multiple platforms (Crunchyroll, FUNimation, Hulu)?

Its always bad when companies announce they are going to start collaborating with their own sections of the same company.

No one talks around the water cooler anymore?

Too soon to say. Both sides still have vastly different business philosophies

@Яeverse

Funimation is headquartered in Flower Mound Texas a bit north of Dallas. Aniplex USA is in Santa Monica California. Just where would you place this hypothetical water cooler?

The Texas and California scene are getting increasingly intertwined, at least over at Funi, so unless we're talking about extending their dub pool to actors in New York or Canada, it's not like there hasn't been outreach on Funi's part.

Well Funi has already kind of reached out to NY for talent if you count Brittany Lauda, Matt Shipman, and Michelle Lee who are all still living in NY I think. I think the last time Funi reached out to Canada was when Brian Drummond showed up in Super.
