Wow, 6 pages and no Serial Experiments Lain? Maybe it's because I have a phobia of aliens (the gray type) but this is the only anime that's ever truly scared me (and not just for the alien). There's no real jump scares here; it's pure psychological, unsettling creepiness. Basically it's like someone took the 'weird' part of YouTube (conspiracy theories, paranormal, etc.) and made an anime out of it. If you're the type that gets creeped out by that stuff, you'll like this show.

I always recommend "Another" for Horror genre anime. You'll be blown away by the twist of the story that's for sure!

It would be appreciated if you could explain a bit more. Why do you recommend Another? What about it do you enjoy? A bit more information/opinion is needed to stimulate any sort of discussion. Thanks.

Apparently I didn't mention that Mononoke was licensed by Cinedigm last year and released for a ridiculously low price. Cinedigm also licensed a streaming version to Crunchyroll. I still think people should watch the "Bake Neko" arc of Ayakashi Samurai Horror Tales first, though. I think it remains the best of the Apothecary stories and provides context for Mononoke.

Bonus points if you know of anime with similar art styles/mixed media such as Madoka Magica or Mononoke. A big thank you in advance.

Sorry, I don't know of any which are mixed media, but:
-Doomed Megalopolis
-Vampire Princess Miyu Integral (TV)
-Hell Girl / Jigoku Shoujo
-Blood the Last Vampire
-Made in Abyss (yes, I know it doesn't look like horror at first glance, but it certainly is)

The Promised Neverland is a great example of well done horror in anime. It is clearly horror from the first episode on (unlike some other popular horror stuff like Madoka and Made in Abyss). It also features some great and highly art style and top notch animation. So far my favorite anime of 2019.

Overall, I would think horror is the best genre when done right (or at the least the genre that has the greatest "hit/"disappointment" factor among all the genres I know). Sadly, I do not know many horror anime.

I can't believe I forgot to mention 3x3 Eyes. That's a fantastic, classic, horror anime.

I saw a few and i found the following as best horror anime

Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin)
Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu (Parasyte -The Maxim-)
Terra Formars

I am now using AnimeHeaven. There are a few other good alternatives of JustDubs. But Animeheaven is best to watch anime for me.

I know non anime fans that enjoy horror anime like Vampire Hunter D, Perfect Blue, and Wicked City. I think people who are not into anime, but love horror movies would probably enjoy those. Those titles appeal to non horror fans because they are similar to horror movies that they like.

Wicked City, Devilman, Parasyte, and Demon City Shinjuku - Similar to body horror movies from David Cronenberg, John Carpenter, and Lucio Fulci

Perfect Blue - Giallo and thrillers similar to Dario Argento, Alferd Hitchcock, and David Lynch

Vampire Hunter D - Vampires
