I was just thinking I should catch up and finish the Kimi ni Todoke manga and that I should start reserving them at the library.
Instead, went to Ebay and bought a lot of 1-20 on the cheap. Still need 21-30, but I could take my time to find another deal and/or finish the series through the library as planned. Part of the reason for the purchase was to avoid having to check out a dozen or so thumbed through books at once. |

A few years ago I made my first big foray into importing UK/AU releases, both to pull an end-around on Aniplex's absurd domestic pricing and to pick up a few choice titles that have never received home video releases over here. It's been a while since my last round, but when I noticed that a few of the things I'd had my eye on seemed likely to be dropping out of print, I made another big combo order. A big chunk of what I ordered came from the UK-based retailer Zavvi, but I also discovered that Amazon seems to have added a "Global Store" option in its sellers, which seems to let you directly order items from their UK version without ever leaving the US storefront. Handy.
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex standard UK BD set Steamboy UK BD Tokyo Godfathers UK BD Tatami Galaxy limited edition UK BD Giovanni's Island UK BD Gankutsuou standard UK BD One Piece movie collections 1-3 UK DVD Erased standard sets 1 & 2 AU BD I usually don't like buying limited editions, for both pricing and shelf space, so I went with the Madman AU release of Erased over the Anime Limited UK version, since the latter appears like it was special-edition only. (I guess Aniplex is screwing over the UK now too.) Tatami Galaxy was exclusive to a limited-edition set too, so I had to bite the bullet on that. About the only other thing I can see needing from the UK at this point is Silver Spoon. |

Damn Discotek sale! I'd been waiting for it all the same though...
Cyborg 009 Tetsujin 28: Morning Moon of Midday Cyborg 009 was, of course, a long time in the making, I think it took them almost 2 years to get this one together. But they kept us updated during the process through social media, so I can't really fault them for it! And Tetsujin 28, I really liked the 2004 series, I still have the DVD set though, so I'll just go with the movie thing for now!
