Next-Gen? I doubt that SNK would like to compete with the likes of Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft and PC gaming. I would be happier if they just make a mini version of the Neo-Geo that only plugs to the TV, the one they made is fine but I don't think people want to use it as a portable console as a mini arcade.

Yeah, probably shouldn't read into the "Next-Gen" part too hard...

...likely another case of that excitable classic SNKglish, as I'm sure it just means "relative to the original Neo Geo".

I fully figure this'll be another novelty toy console, which is fine for what it is, as long as people don't set their expectations too high.
