Congratulations Ash, your victory has come true!!!!! But one more thing, i wonder if Ash is ever going to appear in the SWSH anime is certainly unclear, i hope the anime doesn't end, it worries me. Sad

I still always get emotional whenever I rewatch the moment Ash lost the Kanto league. Even if Ash losing later on became an artificial way to refresh the series without swapping out the MC or advancing the plot, Ash’s original loss at Kanto still holds up as being really we written moment of important character development for Ash. I’m happy for Ash he finally won after all these years. I wonder what Gary must think of Ash now and I hope we’ll get to see him one last time if Ash is indeed being phased out of the show. I used to be skeptical of the reboot rumors, but it is looking more likely now that they will phase out Ash or maybe he’ll be less of a central focus if they’re going with a Pokémon Masters type of show.

Lycanroc fight was ok but I think Zoroark went down way too easily for how it was hyped up. Honestly kind of felt like the win was handed to him as a condolence for Kalos.

ACKSHUALLY
He already won the Orange Island League 20 years ago, but it doesn't count because that arc wasn't based on any existing games.

Like with the battles themselves, the anime makes up its own rules as it goes along. And since the anime is its own canon, it DOES count and this whole celebration is moot.

The Orange Islands arc has always been considered filler in that has no connection with the games. Tracey hasn't had an appearance in the show since B&W. The Orange Islands doesn't count because it wasn't sanctioned by the Pokemon League Conference.

This. Even the official Japanese Pokemon twitter called this his first Pokemon league victory.
