Yet another one goes SoulCalibur movie way. And I have no faith in that Taika Waititi dude. Akira does not need to be extremely visual, it should be deeply anxious and politically expressive. Not your Thor adventures.

Is there any more predictable headline in anime than, "Live-Action Akira Not Actually Happening?"

And yes, keep it buried.

The writing was on the wall once they remembered that they had Matrix 4 happening.

Nobody wants this movie. It ain’t for the fans, it’s for the investors. They made a movie once and it can’t be topped. Besides, we’re already getting a series.

If the director was not working on other big projects, I wonder if this movie would be closer to seeing the figurative light of day!

Sure, there's always "Harmony Gold insists live-action Robotech actually is happening."

.....What makes you think it wouldn't be?

You're basing your argument off of one movie out of like two Waititi directed neither of which are exactly the same.

By this logic no adaptation is for fans just rich people with money to throw around even when the adaptation is based off an obscure as hell work.
