I'm really excited for this! Tokyo Babylon and X/1999 are two amazing manga that don't get the recognition they deserve. Can't wait to have my heart shattered all over again!

Oooh! To see this series finally getting an expansive adaptation is awesome.

Well, I guess the old-school fans will learn the hard way to be careful what they wish for...

I wish I could capture in words the emotional rollercoaster I felt reading that headline, the soaring joy of the first nine words, followed by the terrible crash of the last two. Prepare yourselves for After Effect gradient vomit and motion sickness once more.

Also, the new character designs have taken out all the CLAMP-iness from them and I think I hate them.

To be fair, X/1999 was a huge deal in the animesphere about 20 years ago, when I was in high school. It was one of the "starter" anime and manga for a lot of people my age. Tokyo Babylon had an OVA, but it never really made a splash in the US as far as I'm aware, so it will be neat to see it finally get the full anime treatment.

Sounds like something worth it.

And yes, I'm aware of the studio's not so good recent releases, but they also did K, so you two above should wait and see instead of giving some premature judgment.

My expectations are measured. I also already have the manga if I want superior art. I just want more people to experience this story. It usually gets overshadowed by X.

Still, wait until the rest of previews comes before passing judgment based on just one company.

Did Hand Shakers. Did sequel to Hand Shakers. They'll have to try pretty hard to subvert expectations...

While people will bring up Hand Shakers & W'z, GpHands just simply has a specific visual style, going as far back as K, and this promo definitely shows that it's going for a similar visual aesthetic, so people's disappointment is understandable.

Personally, I couldn't even tell that was Subaru at first, I actually thought Seishiro was Subaru at first, so this definitely turns me off. While I'm more familiar with these characters via X, it still just doesn't feel like a CLAMP adaptation at this point, simply because everything looks so utterly different.

Now just imagine if this does well enough for GoHands to make a new X anime!

I'm aware of that, but looking at them closely, they're mainly anime first shows, so an adaptation could be a different beast.

Don't even joke about such a thing. That monkey paw has already curled one finger today.

At least the X anime we do have is actually pretty good. And the movie...well, at least it's really pretty.

Made by the studio that ruined 7seeds and is setting it in 2021 and everyone looks weird and moe.
