I feel bad for the author. Their work is inexorably linked with the train wreck of an anime adaptation.

The actual manga is really not bad, nothing amazing, but not the stigma it deserves. It's a shame what the anime did to it.

I have read a few chapters and the manga was pretty enjoyable imo. The art style was also great. They really did the author dirty with the anime adaptation.. Sad to see the manga end.

The manga had amazing art; I can't help but thinking the anime adaptation being one of the worst thing to come out in YEARS made an impact on the creative team's decision. It's quite sad.

As others have said, the manga is actually quite good and with very nice artwork. Sadly the memory is forever stained by the travesty that is the anime. The best we could hope for in that respect is for the production company to do a FF XIV and scrap it and remake it from scratch.
