Ordered Mamoru Hosoda's Mirai off of Amazon.ca. I had kind of forgotten about this release, to be honest. I haven't seen it yet but have zero issue with doing a blind Hosoda buy.

Paranoia Agent Steelbook from Target. Target was having a 20% off sale a few weeks back, but...this was a replacement, since the first one which I ordered with a couple of live-action BDs got put in a bubble mailer and they all had damage to their cases.

Somehow the replacement came undamaged even after being in the equivalent of a vacuum sealed manila envelope. It wasn't even one of those with corrugated cardboard. Rolling Eyes

Welp, I've ponied up for yet another amazing RightStuf collector's edition: The Irresponsible Captain Tylor. Honestly, the only reason I got it was because Sezzle is now an option. If I had to do it all in one go, I would have passed. With shipping, tax and currency exchange it comes out to $322-ish CAD but like I say when you bust that out over 6 weeks, it's doable without having to add to my credit card debt.

The trades. Complete set. I wonder how many comics that would be?

Interesting that these are affordable but the following "All-New Tenchi Muyo" trades are all annoyingly expensive.

Well, I have no idea if I'll really enjoy them. I mostly only really like the Kajishima stuff and I feel all the other spin-offs (including Universe) are far inferior to infuriating.

@Spastic Minnow

The twelve volumes were split into 70 individual comics all flipped. The All New Tenchi Muyo! had only ten comic issues covering the first two volumes. The series went on to ten volumes with an additional volume of Sasami Stories.

If you want something interesting to find, there was a six issue comic series from Pioneer, no trade.

An amendment to my post above. Last night when I ordered the Captain Tylor super duper set, I didn't bother adding $50 more of stuff to qualify for free Canadian shipping. Presumably, because I'm an idiot. By not qualifying for free shipping I was gonna be paying $30 for shipping anyway. So why not pay $20 more and actually get moar stuf, right???

So I cancelled the original order and made another with Captain Tylor AND

Yona of the Dawn Complete Series Essentials Blu-ray
Shakugan no Shana Season 2 Part 1 Limited Edition Blu-ray/DVD
Shakugan no Shana Season 2 Part 2 Blu-ray/DVD
Shakugan no Shana Season 3 Part 1 Limited Edition Blu-ray/DVD
Shakugan no Shana Season 3 Part 2 Blu-ray/DVD

There's a Right Stuf Funimation sale going on right now and I got the Shana sets for dirt cheap. The Part 1s were $8 each and the Part 2s were $10 each.

eta: Going to pick up a copy a live action Kitaro Blu-ray movie tonight that I'm buying off a guy on Kijiji. $5. I like the franchise so seeing a live-action version should be fun. I'm totes breaking Toronto's "stay at home" order to do this, so don't tell the coppers!

I'm enjoying what I've read so far of the No Need For Tenchi series, so I went ahead and did some comparison shopping and was able to order
All-New Tenchi Muyo 1-8 and Sasami Stories (trade paperbacks)
off eBay

9 & 10 are stupid expensive though. As in each book costs more by themselves than I paid for 1-8 together. I have them as saved searches now. Hopefully some goodwill gets a library copy some time. #6 was kinda like that, normal price is $35, I made an offer on a library copy and got it under $10 w free shipping.

I heard the other series, short though it may be, was horrible
...and there are two sets of the 6 comics available on eBay. 1 for $239, 1 for $399 Shocked

Despite the finale, always love my Shakugan no Shana. Got the Japanese artbook some years ago. You still can find good T-Shirts too, if you look around enough.

I've got a Shana wall scroll proudly hanging in my bedroom! It's actually one of the few I have that doesn't make me seem like a total perv. Actually, my Moonphase is pretty tame too (but cute). My High School of the Dead one on the other hand...

@Spastic Minnow

I wouldn't call the Pioneer comics horrible but they weren't good. Certainly not worth that kind of silly money. Strictly speaking they are not manga. They were apparently commissioned by Pioneer to go along with the VHS tapes of the first two OVAs they were selling. They also did Phantom Quest Corp. but that only lasted one issue.

They came out in 1997 and are credited to Jose Calderon and Matt Lunsford. I think artist and author in that order but I'm not sure.

@Blood-

I don't have a wall scroll of Shana but I do have a couple three figures.
