He's on the list of banned Pokemon along with Yungerer/Kadabra and Rougela/Jynx. They're never going to pop up in the anime ever again.

Makes sense. A lot of DP characters are coming back. Shirona's last appearance was on October 4, 2012. Lined up perfectly.

Why is Kadabra banned? I understand the other 2 but why him/her/them?

Uri Geller sued Nintendo for basing the Pokemon on him without his permission. Unlike the other two which were just taboo, Kadabra was an actual legal issue and was even removed from the TCG as well as the anime.

Well, that seems kinda silly now that the man has apologized and said he wouldn't raise a stink about the pokemon being used for cards or whatnot any more.

Not to mention (though it hasn't been confirmed outright that Uri Geller is the reason) Kadabra is the only trade-based pokemon that will always evolve when traded, even if it is holding an Everstone.
