Hadn't bought much for my collection in awhile.
2nd & Charles recently opened up a new store in the local mall after having closed their only location in the state a few years back. I decided, for the hell of it, to bring in my duplicate pulls for my Animal Crossing amiibo cards. They only took in half of them (because they're were too busy to try and take in the cheaper ones), but I got a LOT of store credit, so I got several things for my collection: Cardcaptor Sakura Collectors Edition Vols. 6-8 (since we're finally reaching the end, I'm very curious what that "teased surprise" is going to be for collecting all 9, as what Kodansha stated in their announcement) Failed Princesses Vol. 4 Prince Freya Vol. 5 Land of the Lustrous Vol. 8 Also got a set of Mob Psycho 100 pins; couldn't resist them, especially with the S3 announcement. |

El-Hazard The Magnificent World Blu-Ray Aquarian Age TV DVD Aquarian Age The Movie DVD The Aquarian Age TV collection is the 2009 version that re-uses the single discs from 2004, as opposed to the 2005 and 2008 thinpacks that removed the extras. EDIT: from Amazon Marketplace a few weeks ago: Maburaho DVD 1-7+Artbox (not to be confused with Mahoraba  )
Someone was offering all 7 single discs under the "Vol 1 + Artbox" listing for a mere $25.44 total. Even though it's not a show I was extremely fond of, it was hard to pass up a deal like that to get a singles + artbox release of a long out-of-print mid-2000s release. Normally, a charity sale is held in my area twice a year, the "Friends of the Library Sale. thanks to Covid, we just had the first in two years (Oct. '19)
I buy as a mix of personal interest and to resell, as the prices are good. Momokuri complete collection.... I think I saw this, barely remember it. Super Atrogan I guess I'll watch this before selling, not the best reviews. Agent Aika: Naked Mission, misread the worth of this... there isn't much. Metropolis steelcase, BD only, which is fine, as I have a DVD of the previous release without a case. I don't think I got any manga, they had a surprisingly small manga selection, considering the time since the last sale and that manga was not (IIRC) a category they sold in last year's "Bag of Books" sales where they sold grab-bags in certain categories. |

My buying goes in weird cycles.
A year later, finally got around to orderin the BD of Tokyo Godfathers, kind of as an add-on to another Amazon order- it was in my "Saved for later" at a decent sale price. but before I put it in my cart, I did a search for my posts in this thread to make sure I wasn't accidentally buying it twice (I was 99% sure I hadn't ordered it yet) but instead found a 7 year old thread about the anime dvd's I lost in a burglary back then. The list was counting which I had already replaced and which I hadn't. In the 7 years since, I had filled in just about every other gap... there was just one marginal show I liked and still hadn't replaced (or plan to next Christmas sale- Crest/Banner of Stars)... Best Student Council. A fun if silly show I have a soft-spot for. So I checked eBay.. good price, added |

So, husband and I went to Goodwill, like we typically do on the weekends. He asked me if I had looked at the case when we came in, and I didn't. Said there was Neon Genesis Evangelion in the case. I asked him "Which set?". He didn't know, so I went to check... and to my surprise, it was the Platinum Collection. To an even bigger surprise, it was $10.
... I'm not joking. $10. The box looked like it had been moved about a bit, but largely stayed on a shelf and looks really good with little to no other scuffs. The discs were all watched maybe once, no scratches or anything. Everything on it was how I've seen on every version of the edition so far in other second-hand stores. Even the sheet with all of the original info about the release was with it, albeit taped onto the box (but it was easily removed and the tape didn't leave any marks or residue). It looks basically like new. For $10. You can bet that baby came home with us, and is now the #1 best Goodwill find ever.

Amazon had shipped me the wrong series set last week when I purchased directly from them and winded up returning it.

Ayakashi DVD Bokurano DVD Honey & Clover Season 1 Blu-Ray Honey & Clover Season 2 Blu-Ray Nagasarete Airantou Blu-Ray Shining Tears x Wind DVD Star Ocean EX SD Blu-Ray I'd thought that Bokurano was out-of-print and gone, so it was nice to see it back in stock. I skipped Viz's decidedly-inferior Honey & Clover DVDs when they came out, but I know Discotek fixed those flaws. Shining Tears x Wind was a blind-buy, as I always like to see Discotek going back in picking up lesser-known and overlooked 2000s titles. |

Another purchase of Konohana Kitan refunded. The Amazon seller didn't have the item in stock despite having it listed. For now, gonna hold off on getting the series.
