If I remember correctly, the executive who was pushing this at Fox before the buyout took the rights with him to Netflix when they hired him.

Still, at this point, Netflix hasn’t exactly earned any trust on these adaptations.

Well, Megaman X had some actual story (sort of).

The original Megaman games' stories were pretty much all "Dr. Wily made 8 robots which have gone on a rampage. Megaman beats them up (twice) and then goes to Dr. Wily's lair and beats him up too." or some very slight variation of that.

I always felt like the original Megaman games never had any real backstory for Megaman himself because every kid in japan knew Astroboy, and just kind of figured it was "something like that".

Wonderful, more content to add to Netflixs content along with all the other content that keeps getting added.

You should read the Archie comics if you want to see the classic games injected with a good dose of story.

It's great to hear the Mega Man Hollywood blockbuster project is still alive.

Pretty much any Mega Man version very obviously has great potential for an animated version, but it seems like we've just had years of frustration on that front. Anything we get is some weird new interpretation, aside from like, Battle Network.

There's been occasions where something animated is produced along with a movie, and so I kind of hope at the very least, maybe we'll get something like that out of the deal.

Also the mangas. Mega Man Megamix and Gigamix are really nice too!

Alternatively, you could just read Bob and George, which has been argued to be the most influential webcomic of all time. Razz
