That looks like it's from a short video called Shelter by Porter Robinson & Madeon. You can watch it here. Here is an ANN article about it.

Hello there,
I saw an episode of a cartoon, in the 80s, and I'd like help to identify it. In this episode there was a magical/cursed city that appeared briefly, but because no one had spent any money for a long time, it would disappear again.
The characters of this cartoon wanted to make a purchase in order to break the spell, but had no money. They remembered having seen a lost coin at the beach, and went back to pick it, but it was too late, and the city vanished.

Any clue to what cartoon this could be?

This sounds like an episode from the anime series "The Wonderful Adventures of Nils".

The city of Vineta is punished because of its vanity. Once a century it reappears for an hour. It will remain visible if someone manages to spend money in the town during the hour. The protagonist Nils finds a coin on the beach and tries to spend it, but the town disappears again before he is able to do so.

Some details on the 52 episode anime series appear at

This is Nils. Smile

So it seems like the perfect time to pose a question I've long been wanting to ask. We all know how critically important eyes are in anime, for revealing character traits, emotions, reactions, etc. Large irises in large eye openings indicate innocence, tiny irises in a vast field of white indicate a kind of craziness - from edgy inanity to outright insanity, mere eyespots suggest stupidity or naivete, always closed eyes denote secretiveness or slyly observant characters, etc.

But once in a rare while I see characters who, unlike all the other characters in their series, have no whites in their eyes, but rather they match the character's skin tone. It's kinda like the eye version of the "flesh fang." Like Nils above and these characters:

. .

That's Shirasu from Ace of Diamond on the left, and he's a very reserved, inconspicuous, but skilled and reliable guy. On the right is Chiku Kazutake, from Cute High Earth Defense Club, who was a very lonely kid with low self-esteem. Krillin (DB) and Cilan (Pokémon) are other such characters, so it's hard for me to see anything they really have in common to give clues about the meaning. I think sometimes, like perhaps with Nils above, it's for simplicity's sake, or to make the character look more "cartoony" than realistic (i.e., a clear "this is for kids" signal), but in series with only one or two characters with that look, I think it has to be something else.

Note that in the examples posted, there are still hints of the entire eye shape, making the skin-tone sclera even weirder. Nils has an upper lid arc to show how wide-eyed he is, Shirasu's irises (esp. his left one) are flattened on the bottom to suggest a lower lid, and Chiku has the classic chevron shape of the outer margin to guide your eye to fill in the lower lid line.

I hope people more familiar with tropes already know what it's supposed to indicate. Tropes page linked above describes the design, but doesn't suggest any reasoning behind choosing that for a character.

I don't know if you know about this horror anime but can you tell me its name?

This horror anime is about a scary demonic sorceress teenage girl. In the anime series, it's not explained why she is absolutely passionate and happy about her job.

Now this is where it gets interesting, her job is basically brutally attacking evil people. She doesn't attack evil people on her own will because she only does these grim jobs at the request of innocent people. Speaking of innocent people, she doesn't attack evil people at the request of other evil people. She only accepts requests from truly innocent people. More than that, no one can ever request her to attack innocent people.

In her grim job, she had many ways of brutally attacking evil people. This includes:

    1. Brutally killing one or more evil people.

    2. Laying a curse that brutally torments an evil family/group for their whole lives. Sometimes, the curse brutally kills one of them.

    3. Giving an evil person torment and extremely bad misfortunes for the rest of his/her life.

    4. Taking one or more evil people to supernatural realms where they will be brutally killed, tortured to death, or tortured for all of eternity.

    5. Torturing one or more evil people to death.

    6. Etc.

It's been shown in one anime video clip that the types of evil people that the demonic girl attacks included brutal government dictators, ruthless clan warlords, terrorists, gangsters, perverted stalkers, and high school bullies.

As for the innocent people that requested her to attack evil people, it's also not good for them because they will eventually pay heavily for requesting the sorceress girl to do her grim job. The ways in which they have to pay is by them dying, dying brutally, being tortured to death, or having to do something very difficult in order for the sorceress girl to grant their requests then they will brutally die or be tortured to death after the sorceress girl completed their requests.

About the demonic girl

Abilities:

The sorceress girl is very powerful as she is basically omnipotent. She is also immortal because she doesn't age and her life doesn't expire. She lives forever. She rules multiple supernatural dark realms. She has legions and armies of demons and monsters. She is basically the most powerful entity in the entire anime according to the anime video clip.

It seems like she has 14 demonic servants that are important in the anime according to the anime video clip. Her legions and armies of demons and monsters act in very inhuman otherworldly freakish ways. They never act like humans or show human emotions. They are very bizarre. For example, some of her demon servants don't act like humans or show human feelings and instead, are mostly quiet while showing weird faces and the only noise they make are creepy inhuman screams.

Personality:

The sorceress teenage girl is mysterious, quiet, and a loner. She rarely speaks but if she does, she talks in a calm voice. Sometimes, her facial expression is blank and other times, she smiles calmly and modestly.

She is still mysterious in that nothing is known about her past or her background. It's not even known if she is originally human or something else but it seems that her origin lies in Japan and she speaks fluent Japanese. She doesn't go to school and just roams the whole world. She doesn't have a human family.

During normal casual times, she is calm. Such as when she's just calmly talking to a random innocent person on the streets in the morning. But during times where she is doing her grim job of brutalizing evil people, she is creepy and monstrous but there are also times where she is scarily quiet. She is very passionate and happy about her grim job of attacking evil people and feels no sadness or horror from it. Despite all of this, she never kills or hurts innocent people except when they request her to attack evil people. She also only attacks evil people when innocent people request her to do so.

Appearance:

She has long straight black hair. Her hairstyle is basically the classic hime-cut that is often featured in many animes except that her bangs aren't straight cut but are a bit pointy downwards. Also, the bottom ends of her long hair are pointy downwards. She looks like a 15 year old girl. She has fairly pale skin. She is not fat or thin because she looks fairly physically fit. Her eyes are not red, blue, violet, etc. but are black.

During normal casual times, she wears some kind of old-fashioned Western clothes. The clothes have a skirt that goes below her knees. She does not wear a Japanese school uniform.

During scenes where she is doing her grim job of attacking evil people, she wears completely weird clothes that aren't even traditional clothes(like a kimono or a medieval European dress) or even old-fashioned clothes but just something straight up weird and otherworldly.

Conclusion:

The only sources where I got all of this information from are the anime video clip and two full episodes of the anime.

During my vacation in Japan, I watched the two episodes on a Japanese channel that doesn't seem to be popular. During my vacation, I visited an important person I needed to meet. I visited him for two days. It was in those two days when I discovered this anime that I am talking about. I was watching the two episodes on his television. Unfortunately, I haven't completely watched the whole episodes so I don't even know the name of the anime, the sorceress girl, or even the names of the two episodes.

The first episode that I watched involves an African lawyer adult guy doing extremely difficult things such as cutting off both of his feet as some kind of ritual to the demonic girl so that she will brutally attack a violent thuggish African rebel group who kidnapped the African lawyer adult guy's daughter and held the African daughter captive. The African lawyer completed the ritual. After completing the ritual, what happened is that the demonic girl supernaturally teleported the entire African rebel group to some supernatural realm where she and her demonic army brutally tortured all of the African rebel group members to death. In one of the following days, the African lawyer was brutally killed by the sorceress girl in front of his daughter which made his daughter cry.

The second episode I watched mostly takes place in a city and this involves a teenage girl requesting the sorceress girl to exact vengeance against an abusive powerful rich political upper class family who is constantly oppressing the teenage girl's middle class family. One member of the middle class family who was a girl was raped by one of the members of the upper class family. Another member of the middle class family who was a boy was killed by another member of the upper class family. The teenage girl requested the demonic girl for help. What happened afterwards is that the demonic girl placed a curse on the upper class family that gave them extreme misfortunes and extreme sufferings and this curse tormented them for the rest of their whole lives. Two of the upper class family's members even brutally died.

As for the short anime video clip that I just watched, I just watched it on some website that isn't even popular. Unfortunately, the person who posted the video clip on the website didn't even give the name of the anime. It's kinda like those Youtube videos where they show interesting shows or movies but do not give their title. Also, I can't find the website anymore so it was probably taken down and I don't know why.

You're probably asking how I found this website. Well after I watched the horror anime's two episodes, I got interested in the anime so I started browsing about this anime on the Internet. Since I don't really know the title of the horror anime, I just typed whatever I know about the horror anime and that's how it took me to the website. Unfortunately, the person who posted the video on the website didn't even put the title of the anime. Another thing that sucks is that there is also nothing in the video clip that reveals the name of the sorceress girl. Nothing! Absolutely nothing. Damn it!

I don't really know much about this horror anime except for the fact that it started to be made this year 2022. I don't know if it was based on a manga or if it started as an anime.

The anime is truly scary except for the fact that evil people have it far worse. What makes it charming is that it isn't just scary during the scenes where the demonic sorceress girl attacks evil people but the entire episodes. Basically, there is always a tension and thrill involving the mystery of the demonic girl and there is always drama in the lives of the innocent people that requested the demonic girl's grim help. This anime is indeed a true horror anime about demons and monsters but it's not just that because it seems like it also touches on serious mature real-life human issues such as revenge, terrorism, bullying, corruption, tyranny, greed, crime, racism, oppression, murder, rape, economic discrimination, social discrimination, etc.

Another thing that I like about this anime is that it is multicultural in that it isn't just Japan where the anime takes place but also in other countries. Also, one unique thing about this anime is that the characters originating from other cultures and nations speak their own languages and not just Japanese while in most animes, all of the characters can only speak Japanese. For example, the first episode I watched featured the African characters speaking local African languages instead of Japanese. I think this is the first time that the Japanese creators hired diverse voice actors. Overall, I like this diversity.

So does anybody know the name of this horror anime?

Sounds like it might be Kekko Kamen by Go Nagai.

Part of what you say sounds like Hell Girl. You might want to check that one out.

Edit: My response was directed to the inquiry by Daniel_Teipen

Hello, I'm looking for an anime of the type memories of life with magical girls.
What I remember about him is that in the first chapter the protagonist (a blonde girl) faints from hunger, then comes the second protagonist (a girl with platinum hair) who feeds her.
Another thing I remember is that in one episode, the blonde girl's father arrives at school on a rocket. Also the same father makes her a pool in just a few hours for her and her friends.
I also remember that they could transform into a kind of "parallel personality" and that the blonde had problems mastering it and one of those "personalities" was her own but in a pink version.
It's an anime of about 10 or 12 chapters I think, that doesn't deal much with their powers, it's more about how they develop the friendship between the two protagonists.
Their personalities is that the blonde is energetic and somewhat clumsy and silly, while the platinum-haired one is somewhat more reserved because from the beginning she didn't want to go to that school.
I saw this anime many years ago on the internet, if anyone knows anything, I would greatly appreciate the help.

Hi everyone,

I'd like to ask for your help to identify an anime I saw a clip of on YouTube a year or so ago. I think it was a mid-to late 2010 fantasy or isekai series. You know the type: big swords, bigger booba, absolutely no shying away form some fan service. The clip involved some vaguely barbarian looking warrior girl asking who I assume was the MC to either date or marry her. While my memory is hazy, I think she was a dark skinned redhead with a shortish, somewhat messy bob cut. I don't think she was crazy buff, more like a reasonably toned tomboy with some well endowed but not ridiculously oversized bandonkadonks.

What has really caught my attention (and probably the main reason the clip was uploaded) was the warrior girl's rather bold method of proposal, which involved grabbing one of the MC's hands and putting it on top of one of her above-mentioned badonkadonks, followed by her making a facial experssion similar to what you see on my profile pic (epic mspaint skillz at full display) and letting out a short moan. The clip ended with some angry tsundere type girl popping up behind the guy out of nowhere, most likely with the intent of exacting divine retribution for the MC's perceived misdeed.

Any help to identify either the show or the characters is greatly appreciated, thank you in advance for helping me out.

AnimeCharactersDatabase may be of some help in identifying the character you're looking for. Further details of the show such as the male main character or the tsundere may also help other users think of series that match your descriptions. Alternatively, you can try and see if the video is still in your YouTube watch history but I'm not sure how far back they archive that.

These are the search parameters I used to look up characters on the database according to your description so maybe it's possibly one of these?

Nice, thank you for the links! I intend on going through that list once I get some free time, I'll be sure to reply once more in case I find the show I was looking for. For the sake of science, of course!

Kirche (a well-endowed redhead) did this to the protagonist Saito in Zero no Tsukaima. The tsundere would be Louise, whose familiar Saito nominally is.

Hello and thanks for the reply! Kirche does fit the bill as far as hair color, skin tone and plot is concerned, and while I'm grateful for you helping me out, I don't think it was the character\series I was thinking of.

My memory's a little on the hazy side, but I think the girl in the clip I saw had a shorter haircut, and instead of a sorceress type character to me she looked more like a warrior, probably of nomadic\barbarian origins. Also, as opposed to acting like a sultry, self-confident seductress like Kirche, I remember her having an air of flustered, awkward innocence about her, like she just really couldn't think of another way to express her wanting to marry\date the supposed MC. I also seem to remember it being suggested her placing the guy's hand on her plot might just be how women of her tribe court men, though I'm not super certain of that one.

I must once again stress that I unfortunately can't recall the clip that well, but if I had to compared her to other female characters, I'd say she looked similar girls such as Cecily Campbell form Seiken no Blacksmith, Chiaia Flan from Tenchi Muyo: War on Geminar, Smyera from Cheat Magician and maybe Holt from The Dawn of The Witch. Granted, I've never actually sat down and watched these shows in their entirety, so there is a chance the scene I keep blathering about happens in one of them, but I need to find the time for marathoning through them. Oh, and if it helps, I think the whole boob-proposal took place either in a forest or on a sunny field.

It would be handy if I could just effectively search shows where a female character puts a male character's hand on top of her plot, but googling "anime guided boob grab" mostly yields unofficial material of the numbered\cultured nature. Still, thank you for taking the time to reply and help me out!
