Haven't seen original series myself (yet), but I am so happy that many classics are getting revivals.

My jaw literally dropped (and popped in the process, because of course) when I saw this.

I made a JOKE about Rayearth getting a remake a while ago to a friend but I didn't think it would end up real????? Now everyone gets to see the real manga ending.
Now that makes me wonder if the Tokyo Babylon anime is cancelled for good or if they're holding out for the 35th anniversary (cope)

No doubt about it, we are now living in the classic 80s revival era.
Almost anything that was remotely a hit back in this decade will probably see more new projects be it remakes sequels or revivals.

Now I wonder what will they bring back next?
Digimon Tamers?
Escaflowne?
Yu Yu Hakusho?
I saw on X that there could be Jigoku Sensei Nube remake.

Sharing an anniversary year with Ninja Sentai Kakuranger, among many other anime and tokusatsu properties!

You won't believe me, but yesterday, word Miaka came to mind when I thought about anime remakes.

Please god no. Could never replicate the magic of the Pierrot anime for me. I'd rather they pick an unadapted Watase manga instead

This feels like a Netflix project. A more manga accurate remake of a manga that stuffs a lot of tropes into its shell.

The cynics in me: As potential Narou LN pool is getting dry, "award-winning" and "best-selling" titles got adapted one by one, and original titles are high-risk, while global demand keeps getting higher and higher, Japan will eventually have to resort to reviving old IPs.

Never seen or read Fushigi Yugi but I agree with this just because I need an Alice 19th anime (please!)
I’ve had the original Rayearth in my potential interests for awhile (haven’t seen it yet). I wonder if I should check this out? Haven’t read the manga either

I really liked the original Rayearth anime, but it was a pretty loose adaption that ended up diverging, so a faithful remake is very much welcome.

Then I think I will check this out, turns out I didn’t mark the original as plan to watch as I thought, so I don’t feel like I have to see that first
