Me and the Alien MuMu (TV) Source: Manga (ongoing @ 7 volumes by Hiroki Miyashita) Demographic: Seinen Animation Studio: OLM (Team Inoue) Genres: comedy, science fiction Themes: aliens, cats Plot Summary: A cat-like alien from a distant galaxy, MuMu, arrives on Earth. His goal is to learn about home appliance technology on Earth to recover the technology his species has lost. The protagonist, Sakurako, has a typical university life, but everything changes with MuMu's arrival. What begins as an unexpected cohabitation quickly turns into a whirlwind of chaotic events. The chemistry between Sakurako and MuMu leads to a super-spectacular, appliance-filled, and cat comedy adventure. Episode 7
I think the episode kind of turned around Samezu, who had so far been characterised as a mean girl in looking down on Sakurako. She came in clutch in helping her out when two alien cats totally don't understand biology and try to make her cold when she got sick. Other takes is that Samezu is clearly quite intelligent, as opposed to Akihiro that we learned recently isn't the brightest bulb. Granted she didn't seem to grasp the weirdness of two cats buying a thermometer. She seems to like him because he was opinionated about not judging, but at the same time it kind of looks like her attachment to him brings out her worst traits. |
