I noticed that the original movie which was distributed by Manga Entertainment is getting a English R2 release by Manga. I hope that Manga Entertainment US will also release the film since my R2 copy doesn't have subtitles (but it does have the English pilot on it). Then again Manga UK does seem to have more heavy hitters (Akira, Death Note, Saikano, etc.) on DVD. Still one can hope.

If that screen shot is the new version, I'm glad that they are making a new one, but keeping the original design. Nothing ruins a sequel for me more than the producers changing the designs to update it. I'd just as soon they not bother.

They must keep the orginal sountrack. Otherwise, they are gonna ruin it. In any case the should only add a few more songs following that '70s jazzy funk disco songs Kentaro Haneda composed back in 1982.
