Well even if I was a Tenchi fan, I don't think I'd buy it. My DVD player isn't region free, and I can't find a region unlock code for it either. Plus, 800 dollars is a lot to spend.

Eh, if you are gonna cough up the dough for the set, you might as well cough up the dough for the player.
I wouldn't buy this myself though. I want the mega box with GXP and 3rd OVA included.
The Borg Cube and the Dragonball mega sets are far larger and more expensive. The cube is the complete set of Star Trek: TNG dvds, in R2(I think). The dragonball sets have some random name and are split in two pieces.

Make it go away! Make it go away! I love original Tenchi OAV and found the subsequent series to be entertaining. I could buy 6-8 other anime series for $800, but it is so pretty. I could buy another computer, but look at that box. Some one hurry and buy it. If it's still there Monday, I don't think I'll be able to survive the temptation.

As you may recall few months ago an R1 release of "Legend of Galatic Heroes" was announced with a price tag of $1,700. It has 110 episodes, 2 movies, and 54 side story episodes. As good as this series is (much better than Tenchi) I wouldn't pay that kind of money for it or anything else.

Think I could talk them into giving me a discount if they would throw out all the TiT disks so I can fill it with GXP and the Third OVA later? Laughing

In Japan there is a similar idea for the .hack saga. Called .hack//integration. It combines .hack//sign, .hack//liminality and .hack//dusk:
