Fun fact: The soundtrack to both Gurren Lagann and Now and Then, Here and There were composed by Taku Iwasaki.

So, when should we schedule the funeral for anime on Canadian television?

The guy gets around. Under the heading of "Depressing Soundtracks", I think his work on the RuroKen Trust & Betrayal OVAs takes the cake.

But then he also did the rousing and glorious R.O.D. OVA soundtrack. Versatile sucker! I can never get enough of that OST.

Yes, the R.O.D. OVA OST is quite good, isn't it? Very Happy

I'm still holding out hope for series on G4 (post-Geneon, they need to acquaint themselves with Funimation) and movies on Teletoon.

Sci-Fi/AniMonday sure does love its Taku Iwasaki anime doesn't it?

Look under Reruns. If you check Gunslinger Girl's episode list on its ANN entry, it aired on IFC once in early 2007 too, so it ain't in premieres on Fridays. I understand the confusion, it caught me off guard too.

It's looking very unlikely that G4TechTV will be getting more anime. If you take a look at their current schedule, very very little of their line-up isn't simulcasted from the US station. I think they took a hit from their hard earned venture into dramatic programming, I'm afraid.

I'm still pretty sure that Teletoon's airing of anime films earlier this year was little more than once-in-a-decade lip service. If anything were to actually come out of it, I'm sure they'd be airing Blood+ or Code Geass by now.
