This is what people have been waiting for. Now only if the Japanese would provide same day legal downloads....and people actually pay for them.

Not really. Joost looks like a more international slant to it. Besides, it requires an add on to be downloaded and some areas are region-locked against R1. It's less hassle to go to hulu.

Joost is better quality from my experience though....

Eiether way, without the ability to download the file this is useless to me...because I take screenshots a lot >.<.

I'm glad that they decided to give MAR another chance. I was disappointed when it was abruptly canceled from YTV.

This is great news. Many people have shown time and again that for whatever reason, they don't mind watching streams, and now there's a legal and free method to do it. This is especially welcome in light of the dwindling amount of Anime on TV.

This is really interesting news. Unfortunately though unlike with Hulu for Joost I have to install a plugin and requires more physical memory than my computer has. So unless it plays on my Wii I won't be able to use it.

There is a button called "Print Screen" or Print Scrn/SysRq", this allows you to take a snap of your current stuff displayed. Pause the video press Print Screen, open an image editor, and done.

Quality seems pretty lousy to me. It's really blurry.

Argh!! No support for the Joost plugin on linux or PowerPC macs... why not build a universal binary for the macs at least?

Very good point.

And my thoughts on Joost are here:

animenewsnetwork.com/bbs/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=638624#638624

In short, Joost is way better than Hulu. Please try it out.

EDIT 9/23/08:

Ignore what I just said about Joost being better than Hulu. I just discovered that Hulu has an option to stream higher quality versions of every show, so in light of that, I'm not going to recommend one over the other. For all intents and purposes, the video and sound quality between the two is the same.

Of course, because Hulu doesn't require you to register for anything or install anything, they may be a better choice than Joost.

But really, whichever you choose to use, they're both great.

This is pretty interesting, hopefully we'll be seeing some more series in the future.
