I haven't read the whole thread so I don't know if this has already been mentioned, but there is an apostrophe error in the first sentence of the news:
"2009 is around the corner and ANN is preparing it's 2009 media kit for advertisers."

There shouldn't be an apostrophe on "its".

We don't get to see the results on this one?

Also, there needs to be a 'none of the above' option in the MMORPGs and fizzy drinks and fastfood question.

And, by extension, an 'all of the above'.

I'm a little surprised the MMO question was designed for a single choice; at the same time, I can see why if might seem like a good idea.

I think we should get to see the results for this one - after all, it's our information...

@ Loopie
LOL at "it's", you must have gone to school when spelling was still important Wink

Was there really a point to putting a "1900 or earlier" option to the newest demographic survey? Razz

Just a comment.

Why didn't you include the WII under game systems?

That's what we have and from what I understand is the dominant system when it comes to sales these days.

Oh, btw. To answer the question about a fan subbed anime that really excited me and one I wish they would release in the US, that would be Spice & Wolf.

PS: What were they thinking by releaseing Rocket Girls in the US? Seems like a good way to lose money if you ask me. Mr. Green

Hey ANN, I have to do this, but you must indicate SEX, not GENDER. They are NOT interchangeable words. SEX refers to your biological reality, which is what you're going after, GENDER is a social construction, what it means to be a man or to be a woman, which changes in each society.

So please change it, for all those anthropology majors out there, it really bothers me.[/b]

Will remember that for next time.

Oh god, I can't believe I forgot that one. Due to a few other questions that need clarifying, we'll be re-running some of the questions next week.

Couldn't that be said about everything we ask you? Anyways, this kind of survey is never made public. Standard practice is to turn around and use the information that makes us look attractive to advertisers and pretend we never asked the other questions. Smile In all seriousness though, this information can be used by our competitors (which now include billion dollar corporations), so we try to control how it is used.

I've removed that question. It should have allowed multiple choices. I'll re-ask it later.

Wouldn't gender work just fine if this is for advertising purposes, though? If advertisers are trying to market toward a specific gender identity, it'd be better for those surveyed to respond with the gender to which they felt they belonged.

I don't know, but we better leave it. Deleting it might be age discrimination.
