I laughed at "mouth-breathing on the forums." Funny stuff. Perfectly captured the frustration of anime forums.

So, did you not expeect anybody to try to read the backgrounds, or is it meant to be ironic that Kevin's location descriptor is for ... the ring of heretics?
(On a side note: all the bloody classic lit books I have around the house and I had to hit the internet to find this? *grrrr*)

Isn't that a reference to Digimon Adventure 02?

I'm offended as a guy whose beard grows like that (I shave, though).
I always buy US Anime Zone's DVDs. They come with keen extras, like figurines in their release of Combat Penguin Pozu.

Got that weeaboo right down to the neckbeard, that they did.
I'd grow a neckbeard myself, but I don't have very much facial hair, and what I do have comes in all patchy save for a mustache and a goatee. (Then again, I prefer being clean-shaven anyway, which helps distance me from the weeaboo stereotype)
That nerd may think he's won the arguement, but Kevin's the real winner there.

I've thrown my hands in the air and have given up on many a thread because of idiots like that. Although the last time it has happened to me was last year when idiots were defending other idiots for taking Death Note notebooks to school and writing down the names of students and teachers in it along with whatever else they'd been doing.

This was hilarious. I loved the 首のひげ on his shirt.
Also, Kevin -> Kevlar. I don't know why, but that sounds completely natural and yet insanely cool to me.

Is the guy in the comic basically saying "don't support the US DVD releases"? 'Cause there are people who complain about series that get a non 4Kids-esque treatment and it's like they think anime should never get licensed and everyone should just watch it on the internet.
And does it really hurt to use correct spelling for forums? I mean, it's not AIM or MSN, so what kind of hurry are these people in? |
That is the very question I wonder myself. Especially since web browsers come with spell-check, so the glaring red line should tip them off, or one would hope. It's impossible for me to take somebody seriously, no matter their argument, if they don't put in the effort to write in a coherent manner.

For some reason, it makes me wonder if they never learned to type without looking, as if they're searching for each individual key, which could make it seem like typing properly is too much effort.

Heehee. I'm not sure how much of a "winner" either of them is. After all, Kevin is the one who took the bait and bothered to try arguing back. And his "otaku" tshirt is just a couple steps above Mr. NeckBeard. I found myself laughing at both of them.
(erg, but when I read "BlkLazerkun"'s location... what a creep!!)

Oh, poor misguided otaku, no one wins on the internet. No one at all.
