Hooray for H&C! I've been waiting for some good news regarding that anime. It's definitely going on my to-buy list, streaming or no streaming.

All I can say is "About bloomin' time!"

I suspect the streaming and DTO options will be region-locked so of no use to me. I will be buying the DVDs as soon as available though - for both series!

Awesome news. I have not been able to find H&C DVDs anywhere, so this rocks.

The first half of Nana is already available on Righstuf for pre-order. Honey and Clover should follow suit pretty soon. I cannot wait!

Looking forward to the DVD releases, as long as Viz doesn't change out the OP & ED animations like they did with the Hikaru no Go DVDs.

They're getting there. Nana is like 3 years old now.

One thing I don't get though is why a japanese company needs an american middle man just to host and stream video files. As tech savvy as Japan is, I can't imagine that there is no company there that has the ability to sell downloads and host streams.

The american middleman has to wait until he can get up the money and license a show. Sometimes, as with Nana, this takes 3 years. The japanese company could get this stuff up at the same time as the broadcast in Japan if they really wanted to.

Have you looked at the services that are available IN JAPAN for streaming and downloading Japanese tv shows and anime? Compared to the ones in the US they're 3 years behind the times.

Japan is great at electronic tech, not web tech. I mean, have you looked at a Japanese web page ever? Eww....

*pulls out wallet* See this, Viz? I have money. I've been waiting to give it you for a very long time now. So will you please hurry up with the H&C DVDs already?! Sheesh!

This is like going to a restaraunt and the waitress puts the condiments on the table but doesn't come out with the food right away... where's my main course? Crying or Very sad Laughing

What middleman? Viz is basically just the american face of 3 Japanese companies (Shueisha, Shogakukan and Shopro). Also, the waiting is because it's Viz. Viz is slow.

Also, Toei's streaming? Horrible series choices, horrible platform choices, VHS quality video.
TV Tokyo? Bad video quality.
Kadokawa? Poor editing.

Of course, this isn't the reason why Japanese companies aren't entering streaming media but do you really want them in control?

Look at FUNimation which is currently streaming 2 series within 1 month of the Japanese broadcast and with good video and t/l quality.

I've already pre-ordered NANA, and I plan to watch H&C, Monster and HxH on the Funimation channel, but I'm happy that NANA and H&C will be available in more ways and to more people. This is good news Very Happy !
