Oh man, I've been waiting for this thing since Thursday. I'd love to see some of the earlier versions you wrote and then had to delete due to sheer amount of hatred/cursing. Brilliant.

Hahahaha, like phoenixphire24, I also follow you on Twitter, and have been looking forward to this all weekend. Brilliant. You should post some of the drunken rage prequels here somewhere.

Go, Krauser!

In the show, they DON'T ever have to stand up. They are only ever meant to fly, and on land they are just put on a large metal holding contraption thing.

Anyway, the mechs do look pretty stupid, but no one watches Sky Girls for the mechs anyway (I wouldn't think)

One of the best Astro Toy columns you've ever written in my opinion; great work. Brilliantly in its scathing tenor and mocking tone.

It's just so much fun to watch you Rage Against the Machine. Ha ha ha.

Rob, keep up the good work. I hope you get a bad figure every week.

Which comes back to the question: So why give it a humanoid form?

Great artivcle this week! I've never seen you so angry before in your articles. I can see why this one did, though. Hopefully next time you'll get a better figure to review and hopefully a good one from a good anime.
Nice to see Krauser again! You get that mech and puny girl! Twisted Evil

You know, I find it really weird that you complain about the feet so much, simply because I have seen it several times in the past. If a mech has feet that don't look like they could support the mech's weight, then it is a mech that spends all of its time flying. I never saw that Sky Girls anime either, but I could tell from a glance that the mech in that toy simply wasn't supposed to walk.

If you want to see other instances of that "no feet 'cause it always flies" concept, just look at any of the Orbital Frames from the Zone of the Enders videogames or the almighty Xenogears from the game of the same name. I am pretty sure I have seen it in many other places, as well, though I can't name any off the top of my head.

Coming from someone who hasn't bought an anime toy in five years, you write a damn entertaining article.
I'm going to start a Krauser cult.

Wow.
I could see $50 maybe, but hells bells, for $65 I got Shun Andromeda with 4 different sets of hands. For $110 I got basically 2 Gemini Saga (gold armor/purple hair & Pope/grey hair).
If she didn't look like an escapee from a magical girl show I might buy it being worth more. At least the teens in Gundam tend to look more than 12. She looks like something you pay $15 for associated with Pokemon or YuGiOh. The mech looks like the generic green material from the cheap army men/tanks/planes I used to spend my allowance on in the 1960's. At least look like there's metal under there.

But I'll stick with my Seiya dolls.

The worst part of this toy is that this toy line is EVERYWHERE in Akihabara! They have them proudly on display in every main toy store I've been to.

Same reason why Macross aircrafts can go into guardian form.

I think the reviewer should actually watch the anime before bashing it, because it does provide explanations for some of the complaints directly.

I was wondering if we'd see a response from Justin on that comment. Didn't think it would be so funny. Smile

i think it works like a segway and balances itself in a way that looks unreal. either way, the anime was actually "pretty good" compared to most of it's type
