Seriously, just be glad Funimation is even relaunching One Piece Simulcast.

But in my opinon, the uncut. unedited version is the best way to watch this. Well worth the purchase and exceptionally enjoyable. Both the manga and anime are a joy to watch.

The version they upload isn't uncut? I thought they were uncut. For One Piece to get a "TV-14 rating" they'd have to be uncut, lol.

Was this meant to be funny? Confused

What FUNi's releasing on DVD is "uncut & unedited;" it just has English logos, titlecards & credits.

This is good news. Glad to hear Funi didn't get screwed.

After the previous fiasco, I wouldn't be surprised if Toei isn't letting FUNimation do this simulcast without thorough assessment prviliges to the server security.

In other words, Toei probably won't let FUNimation upload the newest episode until said episode had already aired in Japan.

It was said in a previous article on here where ANN had an interview with one of the higher ups in FUNimation that they wouldn't be uploading Simulcast episodes before they air in Japan anymore.

Good news for US fans, but Europe yet again gets screwed, with arguably the bigger fanbase, meaning if they want to eliminate fansubs, why put up the region protection which wasn't in place before the video portal upgrade?

The region restriction was probably insisted upon by Toei.

It's not FUNimation's fault that no European company has gotten the One Piece European streaming rights from Toei.

Did they ever catch the person responsible for uploading the leaked episode to the torrent servers? I recall them saying they knew who did it and intended to prosecute them but I haven't heard anything since then.

Pretty obvious that it was... and I got a chuckle out of it.

I look forward to seeing how they've changed their system when the eps come out. I'm hoping that they've taken a security snafu and are proceeding to turn it into a positive.

This would be a big step towards that. A first step to be certain, but a big one all the same.

In a perfect world: Yes.
In our world: Doubtful.

I hope so too because if FUNi gets hit again, I don't think many people will think it's funny this time.

I've took a look at Funimation's streaming, it's much more secure. They've also encrypted the source links so it's pretty much impossible to strip episodes right off of Funimation anymore.

As a new fan of One Piece, I am really looking forward to the simulcast. Over the past month, I've read the manga from scratch and am now caught up.
