I was wondering how long it will take for ANN to update this. Not bad at all.

Why am I not surprised?
In any case, I suppose this will be more than enough compensation for the recent...disappointment.

I'm assuming this will be anime instead of live-action, right?

Haruhi's 2nd season did well enough to justify further investment? Really?

It would be hilarious if the movie turned out to be an extended version of endless 8. KyoAni would effectively go down in history as the greatest trolls ever

I expected the OVA, but a full on movie? wow. I think i'd rather another season though. it would be longer than a movie

They could have done the disappearance story during season two, if they hadn't spent so much time on Endless Eight.

I'm disappointed but not surprised. Never underestimate the unblinking loyalty and the sheer stupidity of the die-hard otaku. There was even speculation in the Haruhi thread that the respectable (though not amazing) sales for Endless Eight was partly due to Japanese collectors being unable to resist the impulse to buy the volume(s) for completion's sake. If true, that's just crazy, although unfortunately not by otaku standards.

Aye, and like we said there, we will see the true quality of the episodes for this week's dvd sales numbers. The super-fans most likely have already picked up their copies. This week and going forward will show us what the general public think.

Yes, thank you God, this is good.
.... So far. Please, please don't let this be a troll....
Making "Disappearance" a movie isn't such a bad idea, its like the whole season leads up to it. It means no more Haruhi for a while, but I guess 2009s serving with this in addition is enough to be thankful for, despite Endless Eight.

There you go, Haruhiists. Good things to those who wait and all that. Can't wait to see those Haruhiists gather round at the red carpet celebration and at the other theaters premiering this.

Ugh. Just what we need. Endless Eight: The Director's Cut.

AND THUS THE FANDOM RENEWS AGAIN
I bet 12 more volumes of the light novel are already finished and will be released as soon as people stop caring for the umpteenth time.

I wouldn't even bother tempting them. Let's just assume for now that they are not willing to waste money on a movie, even if they would do a TV series. Let's just hope that the stakes are too high. :/
