"R" rated movies work the same as 18+ (or MA in video games)

If you're under 18 then you need someone over 18 to buy it for you (or find a store/theatre that really doesn't care for those restrictions)

Actually if you're under 18 you shouldn't be watching it at all.

so we need to protect the children?

(assuming people under 18 are no different from pre-pubescent children)

With R rated films it's 17+ to buy a ticket and go on your own, but with you can go with an adult as someone younger.

The site isn't 18+, it's 17+ (try it yourself) and the thing is rated TV-MA- the same rating they have for Shigurui, Speed Grapher, etc. Just by watching a bit of this show and seeing how the website is set up, I'm surprised that people are saying that this needs to be rated lower.

Yeah, the show had some pretty needless violence and sexuality, to the point of kinda hurting the show for the worse. The rating is appropriate.

Without any doubt this show should be listed as 18+. It gets to the point of being sexy for the point of being sexy.

If only people would realize how silly this whole use of age is to determine maturity. I've met kids with more sense than their parents and the other way around too.

Ah, but who cares about that folderal! We could debate the issue forever and never reach a consensus!

What's important is that Funimation will announce the English cast for Strike Witches today at the online panel!

Remember when people were taking bets (metaphorically speaking) about how long it would be before the Strike Witches release was cancelled? I'm going to buy three copies just to show my support for the 501st Joint Fighter Wing.
