Shocked

Well, that was COMPLETELY unexpected especially for NIS to get into the anime licensing business. And choosing Toradora as their first choice, nice!

Again, I LOVE YOU NIS. Very Happy

First Sakura Taisen, now anime, and then visual novels. Anime hyper
Definitely buying.

Toradora! getting licensed: No surprise there.
Persona ~Trinity Soul~ getting licensed: Persona 3 was popular, so not too surprising
Both getting licensed by a video game company: WTF?

But, good news either way.

Wow. This came from out of uh, NOWHERE.

It's also nice to see another Kadokawa USA title that didn't go anywhere finally have a R1 home.

I'm curious about the specs of the release - half-sets? 3-part sets? Will there be a dub (I doubt it, but hey you never know!)? Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Really hope they do Blu-Ray releases for these. Don't care if they're dubbed or not though.

Can't believe it's taken this long for Toradora to get licensed.

This is certainly a surprise. I have no idea what to expect, but a competent release would be nice. Other first releases by companies have been less than impressive, so I hope they do a good job (and don't attempt to re-invent the wheel), as the show deserves it.

With the current cost of entry for BluRay authoring, I'm pretty positive no new anime company is going to do BluRay on anything less than an A+ title. Too expensive.

Justin can elaborate more about the cost if you want details.

Wow did not see that coming, I would have thought Funi would grab Toradora.

Now the real question remains is it geting a dub? Because if it is then Im buying the release.

I wouldn't break out the champagne too soon. Considering that this is NIS America's first venture into anime licensing, we still don't know how the company will do in terms of subbing (or dubbing). If anything, we should see how their quality, pricing, and releases are before we can consider them a worthy new contender in the field of R1 anime distribution.

Hmm... First off, Awesome.

NIS America has been pretty good on their Video Game import selection and it looks like their off to a good start with their Anime selection. Very promising newcomer in the licensing family. It'll be great to learn the details of how they'll distribute the series. But in any case very cool NIS America. Very cool.

EDIT:

You know what? Totally wrong. The Persona anime threw me off. The company I'm thinking of is ATLUS. Their the one's with good import selections and track record. Still. Thanks NIS and good luck to ya. I'll do what I can to support your new venture.
