I am positively giddy because of this news! Both a confirmation that the manga'll be released Stateside - this year, at that! - and that an anime adaptation will be made. Mr. Green

I really am fascinated by the subject matter of this manga, as well as by its uniqueness. Shimura's oh-so-huggable art style doesn't hurt any, either.

Yay! I've been hoping for this ever since the Aoi Hana anime was first announced. Anime smile

So, did Fantagraphics intentionally time this up? Anyway, I hope it gets streamed the way Aoi Hana did, though that series will a little disappointing simply because it was so short. Hopefully Wandering Son will get further into the story.

Interesting timing, considering the manga was just licensed for North America. Seeing as though I am already very interested in the manga, there is no question that I'll be checking out the anime adaptation.

MAN, someone must be reading my mind. I was just thinking that I wouldn't be surprised if they adapted this. Here it is. I wonder if they are going to get the same studio that did 'Sweet Blue Flowers' (Aoi Hana).

Great news to hear. I'll be looking forward to it. Wonder if it will be streamed?

That would be very nice, especially if it is the same staff.

JEEZ! One Wandering Son announcement after another! I loved Aoi Hana the anime, so maybe I'll watch this too! I did read a little of the manga, but I haven't made it a priority because of so many other stuff.

Oh gosh... I was REALLY hoping that this would get an anime adaptation, but I thought it was kind of a pipe dream.

Will definitely be watching this! Anime smile

I think all my anime dreams for the next 10 years have been used up with this one title. I'm not complaining though!

If JC Staff does this (the studio who adapted Aoi Hana) then that would just be icing on the cake.

Edit: I remember thinking around the time the Aoi Hana anime was released who would be suited voicing the main characters, especially Shuu. Considering Yui Horie was cast as Kyouko in Aoi Hana, I hope she'll also be cast in this one; I think she'd make a good Maho or Sasa-chan. I would kill to have Mai Nakahara do Anna; its the perfect role for her. Marina Inoue seems the obvious choice for Yoshino.

I don't know who would be good for Shuu though. Maybe Mamiko Noto?

This looks like it could be interesting. What I read/watched of Aoi Hana was very good. Mature slice-of-life stories are always welcome.

Wandering Son/Hourou Musuko is far better.

Done right, this might better than manga with the addition of great art direction.

That's my hope! It's already a very interesting and touching series, so any improvements that can be made to it I think'll bring out a truly delightful series.

I'm sincerely hoping that Azuma Sakamoto will be the voice choice (rhyme!) for Shuichi. For those who have seen Pandora Hearts the anime, her young Gilbert voice is awesome!
