i was reading no need for tenchi and they said to refer to a ova to see the relation ship between tsunami and sasami. i don't have the vollume or ova to refer to but someone might know.

spoiler[Tsunami is Sasami. They merged when Sasami nearly died during Ryoko's attack on Jurai. She fell off a platform in the tree grove, landing near Tsunami's tree, which, as the mother tree, is at the base of the grove. Basically, as Sasami grows, she will become Tsunami. Don't think of this as Sasami dying. They fused in personality, and were long since the same person in mind. Still, as she grows, her looks will slowly become those of the goddess until they are the same.]
