I'm not sure if this counts as a duplicate, but the Bungaku Shoujo film (anime#10815) lists "Bungaku Shōjo" as an alternate title. If the encyclopedia conforms to Wikipedia's version of Hepburn, then shouldn't "Bungaku Shōjo" be both the main title and only listed romanization?

I'm embarassed to even know this, but...

Night Shift Nurses: RN's Revenge is episodes 3-5, Night Shift Nurses: Clinical Confessions (OAV) is episodes 6-7 and Night Shift Nurses: Carnal Corruption (OAV) is episodes 8-9 of Night Shift Nurses. These are merely volume titles, like any other anime series.

Karte 5.5 is also just the recap episode, which was not released in the States. Ep#10 was never licensed either (due to a lovely scene involving a vacuum cleaner), but there are 11 eps to the series in total.

The others are, in fact, actual spin-offs/retellings/sequels.

This was resolved—except that Night Shift Nurses: Carnal Corruption (OAV) still exists, and needs to be deleted/hidden.

Following up on all the H anime issues... Laughing

The Legend of Reyon is technically an Alternate Title for Legend of Lyon Flare. Reyon is the title Media Blasters used for the 1996 second series in their Best of Kitty anthology series. ADV released both series under the title Lyon Flare in their DVD releases last year.

Relationship between the two series can be confirmed via the Japanese Wikipedia page:

I did a little research (actually took me two hours and counting) and found their relationships were not quite the way you said.

WARNING: All reference links within this post contain nudity and/or pornography!

The "original," 1986 release of リヨン伝説フレア had an English title from the start: The Legend of Reyon: Flair. This English title remains all the way to the 2005 DVD boxset. The US licensed version (by SoftCel Pictures?) had the 1990 release of episode 2 (with the episode title: 禁断の惑星 Kindan no Wakusei), in addition to the episode 1. For some reason, the US version had the name of two protagonists changed from Reyon and Flair to Lyon and Flare, respectively. Ironically, the redesigned cover had no blue-haired Flair/Flare at all; her significance was taken over by Neris.

Japanese back cover of VHS volume 2 and LD Limited Edition:

US cover of VHS:

The 1996 新リヨン伝説 (not exactly a sequel) also had an English title: The Legend of Reyon: From New Struggles, as well as a sub-title 漆黒の魔神 (Shikkoku no Majin). The volume 1 also had a non-pornographic cover art:

Media Blaster / Kitty Media had it in its Best of Kitty DVD 2 without the rather meaningless "From New Struggles" or the volume sub-title. I have no idea if it contains the second episode もう一人のフレア (Mō Hitori no Flair) released in Japan in 1999.

Now, judging from their descriptions, I can say that The Legend of Lyon Flare and Into the Erogenous Zone: Lyon Flare by Happy Carrot / ADV correspond to the first (1986-90) and the second (1996-99) series, respectively.

Conclusion: The Legend of Reyon is NOT an alternate title for The Legend of Lyon: Flare.

Correct, though I can't offer proof right now, as the Wayback Machine is giving me "data retrieval failure" errors when I try to access SoftCel's site.

BTW, a shorter URL for TRSI's product pages is http://www.rightstuf.com/i/[item code]—e.g.,

It does not—the original U.S. VHS release.

You cleaned up the errors in the Lyon Flare entry—yay!

Edit: Oh, right—I forgot this discussion on the second series—note that "LadyG" is Janice Williams of ADV's successor companies (red user name = industry representative):

Edit 2: For the record, the thread is "(18+) Lyon Flare: Collection 2 - Into the Erogenous Zone" in Mania.com's Anime/Manga Region 1 DVD/BD Cover Art Discussions forum.

Two "new" entries - double entries

1) Doraemon - Obāchan no Omoide (#11797) = Doraemon: A Grandmother's Recollections (#1599);
2) Doraemon - Boku ga Umareta Hi (#11798) = Doraemon: The Day When I Was Born (#3974)

Thanks

The anime "Naapurini Totoro" (#534) is an alternative title to "My Neighbour Totoro". "Naapurini Totoro" is the Finnish title and oddly so the link leads to the right Totoro movie that does not even have any Finnish information concerning it (?). The is no information either about the fact that the said title is Finnish.

Thanks.

It has been entered as an English title, presumably because there is no Finnish language option. I've modified it so that it doesn't show up in the main title lists. Next thing is to figure out why there are two titles for both Russian and Portuguese...

10947 DRRR! and (same code) Durarara! are alternative titles to each other. The anime does not need double mentioning on the list, since both of the links go to the Durarara! page.

Not a duplicate since it is just an alternative title. Since there's no real benefit to it being in the alphabetical listings in this case I've stopped if from showing there.

I believe that Wild Seven (TV) and Wild 7 Swirling Canal (TV) are duplicates. I can't find anything anywhere on the Internet that says Wild 7 had two different anime TV series. Also, while this ANN article lists Media Blasters as having licensed "Wild Seven" (which I'm guessing is the source of the "Wild Seven" encyclopedia entry), a report from AnimeNation about the same convention lists the licensed title as "Wild Seven Another". Since "Wild 7 Another" is currently listed as an alternate title for Wild 7 Swirling Canal, I think that is the title Media Blasters licensed at one point (I'm not sure if they ever released it).

Thank you for digging it up. Somehow it slipped under my eyes due to not having a relationship link. The cast list under the current Wild Seven (TV) was from the OAV and should be removed, and the press release needs an overhaul (what's wrong with the date stamp?). Anime dazed It was a bit surprising to see Media Blasters could have announced the license of a TV series roughly on the same day of Japanese broadcast.

I'm heading out now and will fix this as to-do tonight.

UPDATE: Um, things were tougher than I expected. The "Swirling Canal" title can be seen clearly on Enoki Film's cover art. ANN and AnimeNation were the only two websites reporting the license from Media Blasters; while I wouldn't call those reports faulty, it was still hard to believe a TV series in 2002 could be licensed before or at the moment of Japanese broadcast.
