And yet no one develops for it anymore except a few choice developers like CAPCOM who have Monster Hunter series that the Japanese gobble up to no end. There's also never really been a game for it that redefines or innovates anything. Plus I doubt its successor is going to be able to do ANYTHING to one-up the 3DS without looking like a me-too. |

Whoa dude, no need to get all defensive on me. I wasn't trying to attack you and I honestly apologize if it came across that way. I really didn't get what you meant, though I have to say I still think that's an odd way to phrase it. I didn't realize you were counting from the announcement. In that case, Dragon Quest VIII took what, 5+ years to get to us? Man. I dunno. After all this time, I'm used to the waits from announcement of a Japanese game to its arrival on American shores. |

Actually, name me a major third party in Japan that doesn't develop PSP games. Capcom, Square Enix, Level-5, Konami, etc. are all there. The successor only needs to have Monster Hunter tied up, and it'll succeed in Japan. And in the case of Monster Hunter, the franchise only became popular on the PSP, and the Wii iteration showed that interest on the franchise is solely on handhelds. (Tri sold 1/4 of what Capcom expects Monster Hunter Portable 3 to sell). |
