Just wondering... whatever happened to the Blu-ray/DVD sales charts? It seems ANN stopped publishing them early last month...?

The news team fell behind on them to keep up with other things. They intend to catch up on them soon.

Also what happened to the manga sales charts? The American one is still going but the Japanese chart hasn't been seen since January I think.

Even though it was announced, I doubt it'll get the second season if it stays like this... I knew this show was a bad egg. Hopefully, even the other upcoming genderswapped sengoku comedy might be cancelled.

Edit: I wonder why Sakamichi no Apollon and tsuritama are not being rated separately?

They already have all 12 volumes on Amazon, so its not like they can just cancel it now.

If you mean the supposed second cour, sure they can if it's only preorders and likely even vaporware.

BTW, I was bored and decided to look at the stalker points for a few things. I'm wondering, has there been a show like Sengoku Collection where it's doing this bad in stalker points at this point? Three episodes have aired so far. It has only 13 stalker points right now.

It's definitely looking to be one of the worst performances ever. Ranking outside of the top 10k most of the time, on BD, after airing multiple episodes? There's no way that results in anything other than a hilariously unmitigated disaster. A shame, since I really liked the first two episodes. But bah, they can shove that 12 volume release format up their asses. They don't even have the excuse of being Kadokawa, i.e. pathologically evil, horrible baby eaters.

Next up, Medaka Box. I noticed last week it was under 100 for stalker points, but now it's over 300. Anyone think there's a chance this show could do well, and a season 2 could happen? Depends on what happens later on in the show. It could be another Mouretsu Pirates case as IIRC that wasn't doing well in stalker points for the first few weeks.

Too early to call for sure but it's looking very bad right now actually. It's having trouble even getting into to the top 1000. It got a couple orders early on from manga fans and then just went to hell. Without a major turnaround in the next few weeks I consider it boned.

It looks like Medaka Box is also in trouble if they don't hurry up and get to the part that supposedly is awesome.

They've already bought the 2 cour timeslot, so it they're obviously going to finish it. I can't think of a single show that got canned halfway through a late night run due to low preorders. The only times it ever gets shortened is when its split cour like Mitsuomodoe.

I'll be honest, while I theoretically appreciate Thhyon's post and all of that information, it's mostly incomprehensible for me because I have barely any idea what those numbers mean or perspective to judge a show's performance.

To get to the egoistic point: Are Kids on the Slope (and Tsuritama, I guess) and Lupin III ~The Woman Called Fujiko Mine~ doing as badly as I expected them to because I'm not allowed to have nice things or what? I am ignorant! Show me to the light!

There's a first time for everything. Wink I suppose we'll see and its too early to tell for sure, of course.

If you add up the percentages, it should be 100% (though that doesn't seem right given the sheer number of shows?). And the polling is for eastern Japan == Tokyo + surrounding area. Also, the first number is the current period's rating, the number in parenthesis is last period's rating. I wouldn't get too worked up for late-night shows unless you are below %0.5, but even then they haven't ever been cancelled mid-cour as Ryan points out (again, who knows for sure).

My guess is the prime-time stuff needs to be %2.0+ (Naruto is doing fine, Rock Lee needs some love). Some speculate Bleach was cancelled because it was constantly in the low %1.x area.
