LOL, this is so true
And not exclusively related to Touhou art. Just look at the original art from Tsukihime and then find any good random doujin around. The fans owned the original artist (Although, the type-moon artist would get SO much better by the time Fate Stay/Night was released) |

I still don't really know what Homestuck is! I've tried, but I just can't grasp, or really care about, the phenomenon. I didn't even get the comic until I read this thread.

There was a different artist in Fairy Wars who also was drawing a Touhou manga in collaboration with Zun, but I don't think I know of any other Touhou games that Zun has made using another artist for the character designs. Well, maybe that one Touhou fighting game... |

Actually, this comic is more a reference to the Touhou series rather than Homestuck |

Being a Touhou fan myself, I know what is meant here. Honestly, I have wondered for a long time why ZUN does not hire one of the doujin artists that he has worked with to do the character designs in the official games. It is kind of sad when the drawings for the fanon are better than the ones for the canon.
