No, poor Myoopi! You must live!!
Hey guys, I wanted to let you know I finished my Nina costume! Here's a crappy cell phone pic of it: ![]() Here's me wearing it at a convention a couple weekends ago: ![]() Last edited by SailorButterfly on Wed Jan 14, 2009 12:14 am; edited 1 time in total |

Was that a clump of rice in Myoopi's bowl? I thought it ate castor sugar.

I love how Kevin wants Nina to go from one obsession back to another. Forget that game! Watch them DVDs!

This is the one that hits close to home for me. At one point I got obsessed playing Last Chaos a couple years back and ended up not watching anime for weeks. And I found I just happened to sleep in class everyday. So... I quit.
![]() And once again I came back to the world of anime! Although, anime is so much more addicting than MMORPG's at times. |

I hope Nina feeds Myoopi before doing anything else, hopefully Kevin kept an eye on him. Despite the great comic, the fact Nina neglected Myoopi to play a video game is quite unsettling to me.
If done in bulk quanity, anything can get addictive. |

Name one time when it isn't. MMORPGs have daily server maintenance, program/computer crashes, network lag/drops ... plenty of times where it tells you to just go outside or read a book (or twelve.) Anime hits the end of a DVD and reminds you to grab the next one over when you put it back on the shelf. ... ... Besides, Kevin has nothing to complain about, she is simply branching out to explore a new facet of the anime community. Namely collectors with too many other things they want to do that saps quality time away from marathoning anime DVDs. Or so I'm told *eyes dart side-to-side* |

Great job on that costume there! ![]() MMORPGs...yeah, I don't play those. My time is already divided up enough as it is between work and anime. Even with the anime, I'm at present moment already watching up to 27 shows at once, at a rate of anywhere from 6 to 15 shows a day. (I just got in 12 different animes this month, shit was SO cash.) No matter what, I guess any hobby can be addictive. |

@SailorButterfly: Is your Myoopi "anatomically correct"?
In other (cruder) words, is he stuffed like a piñata? |

To be honest... I want to play one of those games... but I'm scared... scared that I'll be just as addicted as Nina. That I'll abandoned everything... my fanfics, my friends, my fanfics, my family, my fanfics, my cat, my novel... did I mention my fanfics... seriously... I'm one of the most famous writer's on fanfiction.net... I'm not abandoning my fans... That and I can't abandon my novel (well 2nd novel)... I'm passed the half point, I can't abandoned it! Thank you Kevin for saving Nina! Thank you Kevin!

I can't help but feel that Kevin really did this for her own good. That "I Can Dance" comment actually creeped me out for a bit; it seemed as if Nina had started confusing her real persona with the GuildHammer avatar.
The reputation for WoW players is so pervarsive, at times I find myself thinking exactly this too. Except for the whole writing part... |

This melodramatic action series with a uniquely literary hook might be less than the sum of its parts, but at least it has another season ahead to help find its feet. Lynzee Loveridge has the details.

After the Rain—Episodes 1-12
anime
This romantic dramedy turns its potentially thorny premise into a thoughtful meditation on rekindling your passion for life. Nick Creamer breaks down what makes this series so special.
― It'd be easy to skim After the Rain's premise and dismiss it as pure exploitation. “High school girl falls in love with her manager in his '40s” feels designed to cater to male fantasies, and even if framed with grea...

Blame! Blu-ray
anime
In spite of its visual and narrative hiccups, Blame! succeeds as an intriguing sci-fi thriller with a breathtaking setting. Nick Creamer has the details.

Answerman - Are "Upscaled" Blu-Rays Worth The Upgrade?
anime
If a show was produced in a low resolution and has to be "upscaled" to HD, is it worth buying the HD version? Justin gets into the details.
― Patrick asked: I have a very simple question. Are blu-ray upscales of shows that have been out on dvd for years (I.E. Gungrave, Fate/stay night, etc) worth the money? Does the upscaling actually make a big enough difference to justify another purchase to see a...
Monster Hunter Stories RIDE ON Season One Part One

This kid-friendly monster adventure may please the preschool set, but it's hard to see older fans of the franchise getting much out of it. Rebecca Silverman has the details.
― Spun off from the Monster Hunter game franchise's Stories game, Monster Hunter Stories RIDE ON is very squarely aimed at a young audience. That's not because it features a core group of twelve-year-olds as its protagonists, but...
