My first Manga was Sailor Moon, and as for why...it was Sailor Moon, and I was 10. It was like Joy, in a comic format. I had only been into the very easiest available titles of anime, and since this played everyday after school, it was just logic. It was very small, cost too much for what was 40 mins. of reading, but it was the catalyst that shoved me into the manga world, even if it did take 6 more years before my collection was anything to be proud of.

I'm still very fond of my Sailor Moon Manga, and it tells me al the story that the american released Anime Never Could.

For me, the first manga I bought was DNAngel in 8th grade. I have an obsession with wings so the cover art was what made me decide to buy it. The first manga I ever read though was Kadocha vol. 4 because one of my friends was reading it and I was curious.

I was first an anime fan before getting into manga. Over on RightStuf I was looking up Blood+ and came across Blood Alone manga... I read the description, decided to order it... and totally loved it! It's still a favorite of mine... I only wish there was more volumes to the series.

My first manga was Hellsing and why, because I got it as my birthday present from my Uncle when i was 11 years old. When I first read the book in class my teacher looked at me strangely and asked me if my parents allowed me to read violent books. And i told her "I'm not sure if they would allow me to read this, but I allowed myself. " From then on I would read other manga in the public library, until i moved to a different city -_-'

I shared Marmalade Boy with a group of girls at my high school. Someone would buy an issue and we'd all read it and talk about it. I haven't really purchased manga for myself, but I'm really wanting to get into a few things. I've sampled Peach Girl and some other books... Can you tell I like the girly stuff??

A friend of mine was reading the 2nd volume of fruitsbasket at my 12th birthday party. In a months time everyone (all my friends) had borrowed the first copy of fruits basket from her or bought it themselves. Well everyone besides me anyway.

At first I was bit snobby about it because it was all the wrong way round; I didn't want to follow the crowd... etcetera. But in the end I borrowed a copy because I head there was a person who turned into a cat in it. As soon as I'd read it I ran down to WHSmith to buy some more volumes for myself but when I asked about fruits basket they just directed me to some weird cookery books...

In the end I eventually found a little spinning rack thing in waterstones and I bought a copy of chobits (they were all going gaga about that as well) but being 12 and stupid I worried my parents would think it was porn or something (there were lots of naked robots, ok!) so I hid it.

Later I bought books 3-6 of fruits basket (I skipped volume 2 which led to a lot of confusion later on) and became an obsessive book store stalker. I used to check in all the time to see whether a new fruits basket book was out or not (god, were they released slowly in England).

Any who, that of course eventually led to me finding about anime and the whole fansubbing scene (I was 13, 13 year old's cannot afford £50 box sets!I still can't now really...) and then I later found out about scantalations. (I sort of went full circle, since I stopped reading manga when I was into anime and now I've mostly stopped watching anime)

Well yeah, that's not actually the answer to that question (I have a really bad habit of over embellishing things and I'm not going to cut it down because it would be a waste). I said this before, I read fruits basket because I felt left out and there was a person in it who went 'poof' and then turned into a cat :]

First manga was Disgaea. It was only one volume and it was a comedy, so much easy for me to sink into and read every now a then.

My first manga was Sailor Moon Super S. That was around 2001 or something like that. I walked into a Waldenbooks in the mall and there it was. Since there wasn't a lot to choose from back then and that was the only title I was familiar with at the time I decided to get it. And I was hooked.

My first manga was Pixie Pop: Gokkun Pucho by Ema Toyama. It was an extremely mushy shojo. So then I picked up Tokyo Mew Mew, which was the first manga I obsessed over. (What can I say? I was a girly preteen.)

Today, I don't read much shojo besides Fruits Basket and Vampire Knight. Shonen is my genre of choice.

My older cousin from japan's old copies of Robotech and Gundam. I grew to love both tremendously and invested thousands since to refind and claim copies. I've always enjoyed the Mecha genre which is why im persuing the Navy as a F-18 or Mh-53 mechanic, hopefully on a carrier in japan like the nimitz, real mecha work, on a carrier, in japan, PERFECTION! I own so much military and mecha stuff since them, but none as dear.

The first manga I ever bought was Vol #1 of Hot Gimmick, which is still my fave series of all time. The cover artwork of caught my attention, and after reading a few pages at the bookstore I was hooked.

However, it wasn't the first series I ever read. My friends who introduced me to manga were kind enough to lend me their volumes of Chobits and Fruits Baskets. From then there on, I was finally able to stand on my own and start my collection!

Well, the first manga I ever got was Eyeshield 21, but that was for christmas, and I think my parents were just trying to get me into Football. The first manga I ever BOUGHT was Beet the Vandel Buster, which I chose because it had a boy with a spear on the cover.

What a horrible decision.
