Fushigi Yuugi: spoiler[Miaka and Tamahome do it in the last volume of the manga. I'm not sure where that would happen in the anime as I thought the OVAs were terrible and gave up on them.]

-11 Eyes - Sex did hapen, kind of took me by surprise. -Nisemonogatari - Implied - Panty and Stockings - Are we joking about this not being mentioned straight away. - Toradora - Well I think it was pretty heavilly implied when spoiler[they visited his grandparents' place] @ ggqt Well sex was mentioned in B Gata H Kei to be a part of Takeshita's relationship with her boyfriend, was relativly maturely handled too. |

In B Gata H Kei the main couple clearly had sex in the last episode, but in Takeshita case; if we are going to get as vague as mentioning sex we could count every single anime, because well; everyone has parents and parents have sex.
But where was the implied sex in Nisemonogatari? I know there are a ton of sexual innuendos, bit that's it. Are you talking about the sisters sleeping naked together? |

After they delt with the creep it was being said that Senjougahara was going to do something with him, and he was acting rather happy the next time we saw him. It is not said out loude, but is definetly there. |

Nobody mentioned Ebichu sex being made, shown and commented. Papillon Rose, Lupin III as a franchise, Futari Ecchi aka lovemaking step by step, even Lady Oscar had a meaningful scene.
Where? Lying next to teach other in pans doesn't count. I've always wondered why nation that produces hardcore music videos can't deal with simple lovemaking onscreen. Back to the topic: anime is aimed mostly at younger teenagers. There's issue of parents, moral guardians and crazy fixed otaku etc, but IMHO there's another reason- at that age people know what sex is. Terra Incongita where are dragons, something strange that happens between people when they are sure they want to be together. The final stage of relationship that you are fascinating about and are a bit afraid of (because you are sure that penis is 30 cm long. Normally.) When you see your heroes in bed you nearly hear the wedding bells ringing. And that's all, folks. All ships sink, one stay afloat to live ever after, everything is over. -Gorge Lopez -I Love lucy -Burn Notice -White Collar -House (not every episode is PG) -Malcom in the middle I could go on but I think you get the point. If we go into none PG shows the show does not even grow that much. -Dexter -Game of thrones -True Blood -Homeland I think Americans just don't care about sex as much |

Those shows were PG? Would anybody forbid children watching them?
But none of them is targeted to teenagres. If you not count HBO series you get mostly "sex but under blanket" that counts as anything but erotic. |

A $13 Billion dollar porn industry disagrees, and this doesn't include the internet. America suffers from the largest dose of hypocrisy when it comes to sex. It's even worse when politicians rush out to change laws then turn and get caught from doing the same actions they just legislated. I mean, look at the scandal which was Bill Clinton. People screaming for impeachment while they're screwing the babysitter. As far as anime goes, I really don't get into the sex scenes. I much prefer the implied direction than watching two outlines filled with a color getting off on each other. |

Not really arguing how erotic a show is, just if there is sex or not.
But yes, all the first shows I listed where PG. Mesonoxian Eve, you missed what I was saying. The fact that porn in america sells so well only proves my point. Americans don't take sex as seriously as Japan. |

I don't think it is that much of a miracle to see in anime. And when you do, it adds nothing to the show. Let's see, Gundam SEED had sex and not just implied either. Megazone 23 had sex, Super Dimension Century Orguss had sex, Moonlight Mile had sex, Shigurui had sex, Rose of Versailles had sex, Gantz had sex and Zeta Gundam I think had sex too.
Legend of the Galactic Heroes has canonical sex. Texhnolyze has sex, rape actually. Gankutsuou has rape too. Let's not also forget a certain famous school harem show, or a certain semi-famous incest show either. And of course a whole bunch of old B-type OVAs filled with gratuitous erotism and violence. Basically, there is a ton of anime with sex in them, either by story relevance or just for random flavoring. |

No quite right, the scandal began with the affair with Monica Lewinsky, but the cries for impeachment came over Clinton's long term denial that an affair had ever happened. Like Nixon, the actual impeachment was about lying to the people, not what either President had actually done. Both cultures include sex in their literature and film (entertainment in general), it is just that the two cultures treat sex very differently, and as a result the depictions of sex also vary. The U.S. is primarily a christian country and as a result deals with the whole 'original sin' concept which teaches us that sex (which is natural) is some how evil and bad - resulting in the sex being both reviled due to religious influences and reveled in due to nature taking over - the basic American dichotomy. Japan on the other hand is not a christian culture (approx. 1% of Japanese are Christians) and they have a very different approach to sex, it is generally viewed as a normal part of life without much of the drama we tend to place upon two people doing what comes naturally. |
