Wow, this is even more off-topic than our other discussion lol And common guys, let's not be encouraging 16 year old to watch porn, shall we? Why don't we let his parents decide what's good for him.
On the subject of sex in anime, I think NANA has so far done the best job of handling it. Otherwise it just seems to end up with nose bleeds, panty-shots, or de-evolves into hentai. |

Full-heartedly agree, actually.
Paradise Kiss did it well too. Though it's the same creator so, dunno if that should count. 
Oh, but there's also softcore sex "scenes" in older shoujo anime which consist of rarely anything but boy and girl holding hands under sheets. KareKano is a prime example of this. |

He doesn't need his parents to decide for him; he's sixteen for crying out loud. And I wasn't encouraging him to watch porn, I simply said that if he wanted to watch it then all he had to do is search the internet. |

Did you ever get your parents' permission to masturbate? I'm guessing no. If parents of a teenager order their child not to watch porn whether at home, school or anywhere else, well then good luck to them trying to enforce it. |

For the love of God, can we please get this back on topic, which is sex in *anime*, not what you guys do in real life. I will say this: I really don't care how old you are. I'm not your babysitter, parent, or guardian. I have no responsibility to help, hinder, guide, or protect you. My only requirement for the content of my posts are the rules of this site, and that's it.
I thought that the way Blue Gender handled sexual issues was pretty well done, both in the society in general, and the development between Yuji and Marlene (which was a sort of rejection of how it was handled by society at the time). |

It's a pretty harsh series, especially at the beginning (I think it's done that way in part to help us identify with how it is for Yugi). The series doesn't pull punches much, if at all. As for how sex works in the series: basically, sex is pretty casual. Seeing as how anyone can die at almost any time, sex is pretty much a way of stress relief more than any sort of indication of deep feelings. This is a society that has been at war (and losing) for a long time, so a lot of things have changed as a result. Yugi, OTOH, is still Old School, and he rejects that sort of superficialness, even if he does understand it (once it is explained to him). And because he *does* reject it, Marlene is able to do so, too, and that leads them to form a real relationship with sex as a means of furthering it. I'm not going to say, "You *really* need to watch Blue Gender." Because it's not a series for everyone. However, I will say that it is a deeper series in certain respects than some people realize. It's not a simple gore-fest kill-the-aliens sort of show. There's more going on than that. |

you shouldn't care anyway. There are plenty of people my age that watch anime with sex/sexual references in them. Though, the worst things I have seen are Sekirei, Cat Planet Cuties and Heaven's lost property/forte, and neither of them actually have sex in inthem; just heaps of sexual refences, fanservice and nudity |
