S-Same here! I absolutely loved the first season and have been praying like mad for a continuation ever since.
When I read the article's header I literally punched my hands into the air and yelled "Yeeeeaaaaah!!"
Oh how I want to own this series. Please let a DVD be on the horizon.

Please, for the love of god, don't ever use Honorifics again, the weeaboo HURTS to look at.

Cry more.
No, seriously. Your tears are absolutely delicious, and I delight in making people like you rage over silly shit like that.

For once, I'm gonna have to agree with Chagen here. Seeing people use the honorifics talking about characters on a forum is kinda cringe worthy.

Remind me again, what did Chihaya call Kanako?
That may give you a clue as to why I used that name.

Honorifics are contextual--it makes sense in the show. It doesn't make sense when a random dude on the internet does it.

No idea, I didn't watch this show. I was just talking about in general when people use honorifics for characters. It reminds me of sites like Gaia...

Of course it makes sense. "Kana-chan" is what Chihaya calls Kanako. Just like she calls Nishida "Nikuman" and Tsutomu "Tsukue"

But this isn't the case of some otaku adding -tan, -rin, -chan, or whatever to show intimacy. Kanade Oe is called, by I think everyone except one character, Kana-chan. That's her nickname. Using honorifics when talking about a Japanese show about a Japanese game dealing with Japanese poetry with Japanese characters taking place in Japan kind of makes sense in this case, given that is what she is pretty much always referred to in the show.
Why would you say it is cringe worthy to refer to a character as he or she is most commonly referred to in the show? Is it because the English language doesn't have an equivalent? As if English is some bastion of lingual purity that couldn't be possibly tainted by outside sources. Feh.

I agree with Chagen46 on this. You've got to take context into account. Although I don't think it is "weaboo", do I think it's a bit odd to insist on using honorifics when you aren't even addressing the actual character. What is wrong with plain old Kana?

As if Japanese is some bastion of lingual purity that must be used no matter what, even though this is an English-language website.
I often use the Japanese titles but I do so interchangeably (e.g. Nazo no Kanojo X/Mysterious Girlfriend X).

No one ever made that argument.
But by god, some people just can't [expletive] handle a bit of Japanese used when discussing [expletive] Japanese [expletive] anime.
Also, bonus points to Chagen for use of "Weeaboo" non-ironically.

You may want to re-read this. It makes no sense whatsoever.

I'm going to agree with calling her 'Kana-chan'. It's used so frequently in the show that it might as well be her actual bloody name.

Hell, I'd even forgotten that her full name was "Kanade" not "Kanako".

As had I. Normally I'm not keen on honorifics in English, but in this case, it's basically all she's called in the series, so yeah...
