There are quite a few Haruhi fans still around just with KyoAni being douchebags and doing all these teasers along with the author just stopped with the novels means people have gone on to other things. If the author released the novel next month, I'm sure he would sell a ton as I'm sure Haruhi will do financially very well with the second season, maybe not in the US but still.

As for FMP4, I would not expect anything till next year as the author should be finishing up FMP with the novels hopefully this year. Once the story is complete then we can start hounding KyoAni to finish the story. It's quite possible that Little Busters might be this fall and FMP be next spring. Here is to hoping that Haruhi2 is 26 episodes long.

So, any news about volume 10 of the light novel? I'm looking forward to that much more than to the anime...

If this isn't simultaneously released in one way or another (multiple ways would be best), someone should lose their head!

Seriously. This better be the start of something good and not another disappointing wait until sometime in 2010 until it can be seen legally.

Japan, 2ch, Tanigawa Nagaru-sama and Ito Noizi-sama... I LOVE YOU!!! I had literally given up hope(at least for the next five years.) Okay, let's analyze. Fullmetal, Haruhi AND the Gurren Lagann second movie... this is truly the best time to be an Anime fan. Especially one with DSL. Cool

Edit:Pity for those who can't read JP. Time to go watch the TV ad on Nico.
Edit2:Hirano Aya(Seiyuu of Haruhi) is basically saying, "It's finally come!!! We've captured the Haruhi Suzumiya Television anime." And, that in the latest edition of Newtype, the staff will be listed(and, "of course Ms. Haruhi will be there".) Also, that they'll be talking about Gundam, etc. It'll be on sale next Tuesday.

wow, best news reported over the past few days with the all the news about the Korea anime conflict. I've been waiting for this for 2 years its a shock that they are finally going to air it at least I hope.
If its some kind of joke like everyone is suggesting, I guess they should probably prepare for an internet wide otaku backlash.

If the current trend continues, which I'm sure it will, a Naruto Shipp-like streaming release is probably likely. This is the way of the new world.

I hope its way longer this time. Hayate no Gotoku and Zettai Karen Children can launch with 51 episodes of nonsense and shenanigans so it'd be lovely to see a super long run of Haruhi, but I know thats a pipe dream.

I don't think so. There aren't too many anime getting this. FullMetal Alchemist is huge in the US and we haven't heard anything at all about the follow up being on Hulu, Joost, Crunchyroll, etc.

Plus, didn't the DVD for this first Haruhi flop in the US despite there being insane buzz all over the interwebs? It was like the final nail in the coffin for the "fansubs are a marketing tool so people can get interested in buying DVDs" logic.

Well, I heard it didn't make whatever expectations Kadokawa and Bandai made, but at the very least it penetrated the Top 10 list according to ICv2 so it should count for something:

People see the word relaunch and immediately skip over what the article actually states and starts to second guess.

Quote:
According to the cover, the magazine will detail the staff and story of the new anime project based on Nagaru Tanigawa and Noizi Ito's Haruhi Suzumiya light novels.

If it's a relaunch for the 1st season, you won't need to detail the staff and story again, do you? And it won't say new, right?

Exams + Haruhism; lol wonder how that's gonna turn out. GOod thing it's only starting around the spring time. I can watch it with lax, not having to worry about engineering. Honestly, can't wait for this and Hayate.

Having witnessed the birth of the (initially) low-hyped legendary series on April 04 2006, and being amused by what I thought to be an over the top parody of anime, I look forward to the second coming this April. Smile

Hyperbole much?

Looking forward to a new Haruhi, myself. Gives me a worthwhile excuse to rewatch it all again Smile

...See, putting Kanon and Air under the category of 'porn game' adaptations is a LITTLE demeaning IMHO.

I'm not gonna nerdrage but seriously, for both Kanon AND Air, the adult content is PURELY there as probably just a selling point for the d-bags in japan who are you know, the closeted perverts. If you were to more properly call a show an eroge adaptation, a more accurate title might be say... Koihime Muso.

That aside, thank god they're finally gonna do this. Then everytime I get excited about what KyoAni's gonna do next, I can hope for Little Busters!, Tomoyo After or a Planetarian animation, without waiting for someone to come in and yell, "GRAGH, IT BETTAR BE HAROOHI TOO!"

No offense to fans, I myself am looking forward to it, as the first season was kind of lack luster on development for the plot and... Kinda bled too much of comedic nonsense.
