Tenchi OVA on blu-ray!?! Very Happy Consider that bought (along with the movies).
Also looking forward to Baka Test S2 and seeing Forte come to bluray, hopefully that's a sign of things to come for other series.
December is going to be expensive, but who cares, I can't wait for those Tenchi Blu-rays!

I'm assuming that Funi's new Tenchi Muyo OVA series has the exact same episodes as are on the Tenchi Muyo! Ryo Ohki! Viridian collection, yes? Damn, I wish there was some kind of standardization of nomenclature.

No, no. These are the Tenchi OVAs that Geneon put out. OVA 1 and OVA 2. These are the first 13 episodes and the original Tenchi Muyo that started all those spin-offs like Universe, Tokyo, GXP, etc. These haven't been released since 2004, and that's why most people are excited.

What Funimation has been releasing for the last few years is OVA 3.

The page on rightstuf actually lists what episodes are included. They are, as someone has already pointed out, the first two OVA series.

Thankee kindly, gents.

*re-adds item to "to buy" list*

While I'm at it, then, just let me confirm: Funi's TM movie set is just the three already released movies, right? Because I already own that on DVD.

Yes, they are the three previously released movies. I'm buying Funi's set because the first one was encoded poorly and displays incorrectly on widescreen TV's.

Also, I loves me some Tenchi.

Shee-it, kinda sounds like I'll need to re-add that item too, then.

They had a lot of back log, so they finally caught up on it when they were finally able to get all the Geneon titles in hand. I think this will be all last of the Geneon titles (in term of releasing them). I think Funimation is pretty much caught up on a lot.

I've seen some ugly covers in my time but Level E, I think, is the topper. His head is so big, it has to fit over the spine as well. I know it has signficance to the show, but even on this page, I feel the eyes staring at me, watching me..

I've heard some bad things about the Shana cover but outside the eyebrows, I liked it. Level E's s just busy without saying anything.
