I have to say, despite the continuous complaints in this thread, I'm very glad no one is calling for it to be unlicensed entirely, a la KnJ. I'm going to be ticked if this doesn't end up coming out due to moral pressure, though I don't think it will be an issue compared to dealing with manga.

I begining to worry about Funimation now. I really, reallly hope that reasearch is done about popuarlity of these shows. I am worried because I don't want another Geneon or same sitution as ADV.
But I am pleased with Funimation recently, even though I'll probably never watch this show. I've read some really bad reviews on this show, so I am not going to going to risk it. |

In continuing to read the comments, the only thing that is really concerning me is the mention of loli. Is this a case of a character who is actually 18+, but who looks younger? Or is the character stated as being underage?
If the former, how young does she look? |

That's true, they left in all the sex in Blue Gender which was pretty graphic and prevalent , I don't suspect that they'd edit this. Although, the stuff in Mnemosyne is definitely far worse. Plus it's not like this is ever getting a TV deal or something it's a direct to video niche title that will probabally be released quietly in nice two disc set all at once.

Just watched a few minutes of a Spanish stream, and she's tall, and talks very grown up, though here voice is high. The only thing I would say is loli is that she's flat. But seriously, doesn't that insult grown-up flat women everywhere? 
Basically, if she's being billed as 17, 18, 19, I wouldn't have any trouble actually believing that. How she is stated though I couldn't tell you. Me, I am just glad a horror(I hope it is anyway) title is coming out, we don't get to see those too much these days. The character in question is a loli spoiler[in appearance, but as you watch the show, you learn she's immortal, so her physical age is at least a few hundred years.] But I guess that doesn't work in Australia or Canada.
And this title isn't really horror as much as it is pointless violence. I think the horror aspect only really came through in parts of the first episode and doesn't really make a return. Thanks for the response, dargonxtc. So as long as there is no stated age, or a respectable stated age I won't have a problem with it. and totally agree about more horror. That is the one genre I am constantly on the prowl for in animated form. |

Already I was little bit shocked that when had graphic stuff and fanservice in Blue Gender but apparently Mnemosyne has caught my eye seriously and definetly to my buy list, but story does get a bit into rust from its rythym, but now this show is in my definetly buy list and I hope that Funimation keep licensing anime plus Bandai and Viz must pull out something out their butts from the weekend or this coming week to make titles more interesting. |

That is something I never thought I would see, someone licensing this one. The story does connect the main characters, the 2 girls and the dog. It intertwines and weaves over a period of time. Since it was OVA it has many things in it common Anime shows do not.
So in the end if its censored or cut in anyway it will not be watchable as the story will then mean nothing. It has some really good fictitious sexual acts in it but you don't see any of it, its all implied. But you won't be showing this one to your parents cut or uncut. |

Having just read through all these posts after mine I am getting kinda concerned about this show.
So is this show softcore porn as some person compared it too? Or is it just a very disturbing show with some sexual suggestive content? The premise of the show intrigues me and I am a big big fan of Noein so having that connection is appealing. I am NOT interested in a softcore porn. |

...So I'm a troll because I'm expressing being pleased with the direction of the thread? I've seen a lot of people trying to grasp at straws in my time, but this is a new one. It's not hard. America + sex = KILL IT WITH FIRE. Puritanical nutjobs can get anything they want if they whine about it hard enough. I wouldn't be surprised, if they had to worry about retailers wanting to stock this--again, as in KnJ--that there might be some big pressure on either unlicensing it entirely or marketing it as a hentai. |

Well, the nudity level is such that you see about as much of the female body as can be legally shown in Japan. There are multiple sex scenes, but for the most part they just indicate that they're starting to have sex or that they recently finished. There are a couple of sex scenes, however, that show a bit more. Unlike a hentai, this series definitely has a plot and the pornographic aspect of it is secondary, but there's definitely nudity in it along with some sex (though most of it is implied sex). It is not pornographic on the same level as something like Kite or Mezzo Forte. If you're looking for pornography, this series isn't going to do it for you. There just isn't enough of it. On the other hand, if you're looking to outright avoid pornography, you're not going to want to see it either. This is not a series designed to get you off sexually, but it does contain sexual content. |

There are one or two sex scenes per episode. Most of them lesbian, though there are a couple Boy/Girl ones near the end. Then there are a few rape scenes, and a lot of guro scenes where a topless and/or naked girl is being eaten by an angel (basically a winged monster thing that used to be a man). I think the show could easily be sold as a hentai (censorship via not drawing the naughty bits as opposed to blurring them). Don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting the show should be censored (I'm anti-censorship) but I have a hard time understanding why Funimation would pick up such an ultra-niche show when anime distributors are going under left and right in the US. It doesn't seem like a wise choice, and I'm waiting to see if they'll market it as adult content, or if they'll package it as horror, etc. If you can handle a "torture porn" movie like Saw, Mnemosyne will be fine. I could handle it, and I watched all of it, but if it had been longer than 6 episodes I probably wouldn't have. It helped that they were all on some streaming site, and I had nothing else to watch. Oh, and on the question of Loli, I don't think it is a huge deal here. She's clearly an adult that is flat. If someone walked by while one of her sex scenes was going on though, you'd be in big trouble. If any parents find this and watch the first episode, it is going to be a firestorm for Funi, despite it clearly being an adults only type of title (though I'm sure they'll be selling it to kids, just like how Blockbuster used to rent out hentai to people without knowing what it was). The graphic image of a spoiler[ Pierced and bloody naked girl with "dead eyes" would probably seal the deal that you will never be allowed to watch another anime ever again ] |
