Would be cooler if it was a more modern gundam, from like SEED or even 00

Definitely looks like it will attract attention. I hope they come up with a decent solution of what to do with it after their time is up (2 months if I recall.)

But why would they want to do a modern Gundam when the whole reason they're doing this is the 30th anniversary of First Gundam? Anime hyper

What do you know...July is my birthday month. Maybe I can have my friends and family all chip in and but it for me. Very Happy Seriously though, that's just freaking unreal and huge. I wanna know what they're gonna do with it afterwards.

Zeta and Nu aren't exactly modern, but they're still as recognizable a the RX-78-2.

So I'm guessing it's the RX-78-2 like always. I guess it's 1:1 at 18 m, though MAHQ lists it at 18.5 m. Close enough. I just wish they'd do something other the iconic piece of crap that lost it's head at A-Baoa-Qu. I guess Zeta or Nu would be a lot harder, Nu being 23 m. They're both much better looking (and better overall) Gundams. Oh well. I hope this thing is permanent.

Somebody built a big Zeta in 2004/2005 somewhere... I saw it on TV but didn't retain the info.

t wait for this one
Very Happy Exclamation

What do you know, mine is too. I would think that they're probably going to auction either it off or its parts off. Only in Japan could you think something like Gundam.

It wants to be Ideon.

Some say it can actually walk but this was built long ago.

This is going to be larger than that giant horse we're going to get in Kent. I'd rather have this personally.

Not to be a spoil-sport, but that isn't 1:1. It is 1:3 scale, hardly a "real-life" size.

Why not?

Number one: it is a naked toddler. I don't know about you, but I don't remember many naked toddlers appearing in the Gundam franchise. Though there certainly hasn't been a dearth of naked angsty teenagers......

Number two: the baby hasn't got a helmet, or a spacesuit for that matter.

Number three: the toddler is naked. Is that the sort of picture that comes to mind when people think of the Gundam franchise? I am starting to question if I should really be a part of this utterly weird section of fandom.

Number four: the franchise is now thirty years old. Surely that young toddler should now be a disaffected member of Generation X.

Are you ignoring the thematic arc of newtypes and man's rebirth in Gundam? Or just trolling?

Say what? How am I supposed to know what their point is in the first place if they are going to make it so obscure? As in, how does one get "the thematic arc of newtypes and man's rebirth in Gundam" out of viewing that picture? What does that sentence even mean? Anyway, I'm pretty sure that they could have gotten their point across better if they hadn't used a naked toddler. There's just no need for it. Also, this is the thirtieth anniversary of the franchise; why signal a "rebirth" at all, especially considering there is no new series coming out this year (besides the ongoing Gundam 00)?

And don't imply that I'm trolling when you yourself are baiting with such a short and ill-conceived post.

I also never said it was 1:1, just said real life zeta. Not real life scale zeta
