The character designs look a little odd and will take some getting used to, but they don't look nearly as awful as I thought they would based on that magazine scan I saw. I'm a little more optimistic about this series now. Especially since it spent a decent portion of the trailer on a character I like that the first two seasons never got to introducing.

I'm kinda disappointed they didn't show Hinagiku there... both because I'd like to see her design, and she might not be as central of a character if she wasn't in the promo.

I want to see more characters too, but Nagi and Ruka are both more central characters then Hina these days, so I can see the logic. Ruka especially seems to be the spotlight character this time around with her own ending theme and all.
All in all I'm a bit more optimistic now then before the PV came out.

Eh. I don't why there's a huge issue with the character designs. Everyone's hair seems a bit curlier, and Nagi's facial expressions from far away look a bit weird, but other than that, it's fine. The huge-head thing is going for a angry chibi look.
Much better than the movie, at least.

I think the design looks sloppier and less appealing. They look goofy, and when there is a base of comparison, it will be made. People did the same for the new Moyashimon.

I agree with you guys, the character designs are a bit odd. I'm really looking forward to this though. Love Hayate no Gotoku!

It is perfectly fine that Hayate looks gay, but body proportions are too cartoonish, I agree.

Sure is homophobia on here.
But seriously, what the hell do you people even MEAN by "gay"? Are you people so ignorant that you seriously believe that gay people actually "look" a certain way?

Actually, no. Gay people may look totally different. And straight people who "look gay" are not gay at all. Either way, I agree, this cliche categorizing, and however Hayate looks in this aspect should not be issue. Another matter is whether proportions of the drawings are too cartoonish.

I don't have any complaint with the new art style. I'm just looking forward to how 'new' the story will be. Although it looks like Nagi and her butler hijinks with Luka's early appearance.
